It is nice to have the same book cover three major cities, often on the same trip. The book is good, both for lodging and restaurants and sightseeing. Others (Lonely Planet) are a little better, however, but only deal with one city.

The image of one of the grandest views in Yosemite, a double page (pp.12&13) spread of Tenaya Canyon seen from Olmstead Point, is printed BACKWARDS!!

Where were the editors and proofreaders when this travesty rolled off the press?? Why did the author not recognize this??

(I'm closing the cover now, and looking no further .....)

This is a great book to help you get around Valencia, I used it on a recent trip.

The only thing I would have liked to have was a better map, I like the little books due to the fact that you don't look like such a tourist (I cover mine in black paper so its even less obvious) but the maps in the back could be expanded to offer more.

An excellent comprehensive description of major sights in these cities that is still brief enough that one can easily remember the highlights. The book is also light enough that one does not mind carrying it.

I just got back from my first trip ever to Barcelona . I went armed with the following:
1.) Footprint Barcelona Handbook 1st Edition 2002
2.) Lonely Planet Guide 2nd Edition 2001
3.) Lonely Planet Guide 3rd Edition 2003
4.) Eating Out in Barcelona and Catalunya : by (Craig Allen)

I'll try and center this review around the :

(A.) The FootPrint Barcelona Handbook (FBH)
(B.) The Lonely Planet Guides (LPG)

Basically, if i had to choose between the Footprint Barcelona Handbook (FBH) and the Lonely planet guide (LPG), the (FBH) would remain my main reference .

I carried it with me every day and planned a whole lot of my itenary out using it.
