When ever I go to WDW I have to buy at least 2-3 different "guidebooks" and stumbled on this book during my search and had not purchased in the past. I sometimes find that they put in way too much information and not enough photos, this book however has alot of colorful photos and I found that it had different information than other books that I have bought in the past and also for my current trip to WDW in December I also purchased the 2008 Birnbaum book (always have to have this one) and I currently have the 2007 unofficial guidebook which will do for this year as well and it is huge! I absolutely love The Complete Guide to Walt Disney World 2008!!

This is current and up to date information on the rides at WDW. It is in depth descriptions for those who need to know every last little turn and drop on all the rides, not just the popular ones. Would definitely say everyone should have this whether it's your first or hundredth trip to Disney!!

The Essential Man-Thing, Volume 1 is an excellent publication that focuses upon storylines and elements not found in a typical comic book. As opposed to having as the protagonist a crime fighter superhero such as Captain America or a save the world team like The Avengers, Marvel Comics centered this series around an anti-hero guided by primitive emotions, a swamp creature who comes to be known as Man-Thing.

Initially, Man-Thing was a leading government scientist by the name of Ted Sallis, who was assigned to reproduce the serum created during a World War II experiment that made scrawny Steve Rogers into the indomitable Captain America. I got this for under nine bucks including shipping. Its hil-arious, fun, at times impressive and at others ridiculous (in a good way, though there were some deliscious cringe moments in the Thunderbird story) I Loved it. It ranged from hokey fun to arresting and back to silly.

The team up stories are great fun. I am a big DC Multiverse fan and enjoy these compilations quite a bit. This volume starts off a little slow with the Brave and the Bold team up of Starman, Black Canary and Wildcat. The worst story of the bunch is surprisingly a Green Lantern story by John Broome. However, Gardner Fox does not disappoint with the Atom and Flash stories. Take these stories for what they are and enjoy them.

This is indeed a great guide book for Captiva and Sanibel Islands. We stayed on Captiva in a private house and used this book for dining and shopping recommendations. (Didn't need it for the recreation -- who needs anything more than beach, pool, shells, ocean??!) Weren't disappointed once! We referred to the shell guide more than once.

I usually devour multiple guide books before we go on a trip because it always enhances our vacations immeasurably. For Captiva, the typical (Fodors, Frommers) books were a little sterile. This one felt very local and authentic. I definitely recommend it for anyone lucky enough to visit these beautiful islands! Toast the sunset for me!
