Well I got this big book the first week I found out I was pregnant. 2 months later I started to read it and I finished 1/2 of it on the first reading. The book to me we just ok, I could have lived without. Alot of the book just dont apply to 99.9% of us.

If you have no clue about basic nutrition, this book is for you. If you are a healthy eater and a pretty well informed person, you don't really have to get this book unless you want confirmation that you're doing all the right things.

the best book I received (and I got about 5 as gifts)... was the "What to Expect" journal. It has a place for EVERY SINGLE bit of DATA you could ever come across while pregnant... some you wouldn't even think of! Pages to interview doctors, birth plan, places for ultrasound & belly photos, etc. It's been the ONE place that I store everything pregnancy related, and it's small enough to carry with me in my purse, so I always have ALL my info ready. Also, if I am lucky enough to have a "next" pregnancy... I think it'll be helpful to remember WHEN everything happened, etc. on a week by week basis.
The "What to Expect" books I could have done without, really ALL the books... the same info is available online (and emailed to me weekly)... ... Read More:

I am a first time mom and loved the first two books of the "What to expect" series, but I found this one to be a bit negative regarding the milestine reached. I was reading the first chapter and it said that they MUST reach "Milestone X" by 13.5 months or they need to be seen by the doctor and checked for abnormalities...FIRST OFF...milestones are reached at different time by each kid! If you child isn't walking by age 3 then maybe there is a problem, but if he isn't walking by 13.5 months, it's probably because he is content with crawling, or he is REALLY smart and knows that you will carry him, so why try! Some say that's a "dumb baby" I say that that is a "Crazy Smart" baby! Why walk around when someone can carry you! We need to learn from babies!
