This book is absolutely worthless. It is not accurate, the info is mostly outdated. Mazatlan is Paradise, and Moving to Mexico are way better guides.
I can't think of any words to describe how terrible the information in this book is. After reading it, I wonder if the author has ever been even near Mazatlan.

Over the last two years I have traveled Bolivia four times. Among the score of Bolivian guides that I have reviewed, two stand out: "Pocket Adventures Bolivia" and "Footprint Bolivia". Both are solid guides, yet, both have their flaws.

"Pocket Adventures Bolivia" has great recommendations for both accommodations and restaurants. It has maps for all the major cities and each maps list the locations of the recommended eateries and lodgings. The `Introduction' section is brief, but informative (history, culture, ecology, etc.). Each city (or location) is well laid out and out of all of the guides that I have reviewed, none is better than "Pocket Adventures Bolivia" in listing the best tour operators for each city or area.

.Kluane National Park Hiking Guide

Lots of hikes and routes through gorgeous Kluane National Park
are provided in this book. Additional background
information is scattered through the route descrtiptions. Useful
for planning a trip to Kluane, but once you get to the park
I highly recommend getting a route guide from the Parks Canada centre
and ignoring this book entirley. The book, or at least the
Donjek route described in it, is often confusing
and at points downright inaccurate. The book suggests that the
Donjek hike can be done in 6 to 8 days. The Parks Canada route recommends 8 to 10 days. It's definitely an 8 to 10 day hike. We
ended up hiking all day, every day, and it took a full 7 days.

I used this book as my main guide to Belize and was sorely disappointed. I stayed at two places recommended by the author and it seemed like she gets unduly influenced if the owner is personable or outgoing. One place in southern Belize she described as "luxurious", "elegant", and "truly a treasure". Not that I had a bad time, but there is no way anyone would describe it in those terms. Words like that mean things - was the author so naive or inexperienced as to believe them?

The other place in Caye Caulker she rated extremely well and even suggested trying to get reservations ahead of time. Come on! It wasn't horrible, but not something you would go out of your way to obtain.
