I have been a fan of this series from the beginning and unlike many series I still find myself eating this up like popcorn! I must admit I am a CSI fan and the whole forensic anthropology science I find fascinating. I also identify with Dr. Brennan, I am not a doctor nor an investigator but some of the domestic issues have hit home with me.

This time out Temperance is trying two ID a couple of bodies at the animus the animus of the local populace which already has tried there suspect in the court of pubic opinion. I don't want to give to much away but the story mixes in voodoo magic, a fundamentalist preacher who is after devil worshipers, dirty politics, and even male prostitution! You know what, I was about to put that book down and stop reading it. I heard so many people telling what a good book/movie it was so I was curious to find out why.

The first half of the book was really dragging and sometimes seemed irrelevant and boring, but it totally turned around starting at chapter 17 (I know, a loooong way to go, but don't give up). I was amazed at how well it ended, though.

I only give it 3 stars because of the slow-moving development of the plot. However, I still think it's worth reading.

Batman: Arkham Asylum, written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Dave McKean, was originally published in 1989. The fifteenth anniversary edition also contains Morrison's original script and storyboards. The inmates of Arkham Asylum have taken over the institution, and will only release their hostages if Batman comes inside. Batman deals with his own sanity as he confronts the usual crowd of villains.

Dave McKean's art is dark and atmospheric, and it fits the book perfectly. However, it's often so dark that it's difficult to tell what's going on, and a look at Morrison's script shows that the art doesn't incorporate half the imagery Morrison was going for (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

Jason Bourne is one of the great fictional characters created by a great author-Robert Ludlum-albeit he did have a few bombs. This latest Bourne book is well below the Ludlum standards-and I have read every one. This book struggles to find a decent story line, when it does it is so contrived it is pathetic.
Save your money wait until it comes out in paper back and by the $2.00 used edition.
