I found Joan Chittister's book most helpful and comforting as well as enlighting. I liked the spiritual aspect of her book. I have recommended the book to many people and have made several gifts to people approaching retirement age.

This book has many useful suggestions and shows a deep understanding of the challenges of caregiving for someone with dementia. It was comforting to read the short descriptions of situations and how to react to them. It made me less irritable with caring for my relative. I plan to get another copy to have available for when I meet other people who face the same issues.

This book is a great resource for someone looking to liquidate their parents estate. It deals with everything from sibling jealousy over personal items to estate sales. I highly recommend it as it will save you a lot of time and money when the time comes to dispose of your parents possessions.

This book is certainly a new way of viewing life.

I've found that How to Retire Happy, Wild, and Free to be an interesting read.

To start off here is what I liked about the book.

Good parts of this book:
-He questions conventional retirement wisdom.
-He lists clever ways about how to lead a fulfilling life.
-I enjoy the lists he's included in the book.
-I like his attitude of take action.

Less desirable parts of the book:
-I would like to see more hard data (more facts and figures) included in this book.

I purchased this book for my mother who is taking care of someone with Alzheimber's Disease. She found it an excellent resource for accomplishing day to day activities such as eating, bathing, using the bathroom and keeping her occupied through the day.

This book is a great book, especially if you don't have a plan already. Ray Lucia puts his thoughts together in an organized manner, and easy to understand. Too often, financial books get into industry terminology that just get people confused. This should give any investor at any age a good grip on how to make financial markets easy.

The book is geared more for folks that are about to retire or are within a few years of retirement; however, the book is very good for those that have several years to retirement as well.

If you have no investment plan, then I recommend this book. If you have a plan that is working for you already, then you may want to stick with that plan. But it never hurts to look at another type ... Read More:

If you are dealing with an elderly parent with dementia (or other debilitating illness) this is a god-send. Just reading this reduced my stress level greatly and helped me be more patient and tolerant of my 93 yo parent who has mild dementia. Thank you for writing this. I have asked my daughter to read this so she can have these insights when I become old, feeble, etc.

It kind of puts you in that river that sweeps you toward the end. It gets you thinking of all the things that can go wrong and lead to the stopping of your heart.

That said, there are plenty of interesting facts on every page. All this with a twist of sad humor.

This book was excellent. I was having such a time dealing emotionally with my parent's behaviour and was trying to use strategies that just were'nt working. Now I know why. I've changed my strategies and can say we have all seen progress in how we are getting along. I also like that the book offers advice on how to avoid becoming a difficult older parent yourself. If you're looking for a book that offers advice and you are willing to change, this is it. If you're not willing to change, don't bother reading it.
