Using this book helped me teach my son how to read! It does as some critics have said on this site seem a bit goofy approach but it does work. I find it exercises your child's vision to read left and right and it helps with sounding sounds out. I used it everyday skipping only a few days and I feel that it is key to be consistent at progressing through it. I used a sheet of paper and wrote the lesson numbers 1-100 and next to each lesson number we wrote the date and put a sticker of my child's choice next to it each day. And it really gave my son a visual of how far along he was and he liked that he was getting quite a collection of various stickers on his sheet. This is such a wonderful book!!!! Amanda Soule's book in addition to her blog has feed my "soule" in so many ways. It is truly inspiring. I have always loved being creative, but this book reminds us of the necessity of making the time on a daily basis, to do creative things.

I appreciate this book because it's full of ideas that are actually for twos and threes! Most "toddler and preschool" activity books I've found are over a toddler's head, but not this one.

We love all the different ideas.....some are worth hours of play and some just 5 minutes, but the book is full of great ideas!

My 2 yr old has had so much fun with all the activities I've pulled out of this book. It's saved me on rainy days!

I think this is a great reference guide for people who are new to parenting. I had never really been around a baby before I had my own, so I was clueless on how to play with her outside of peekaboo and rocking her. The pictures are nice and it's an incredibly easy guide to follow. Also, as a new parent looking to pick this up, don't get your hopes up. Yes, there are alot of activities to do with your little one, but don't expect your baby to be interested enough to participate in some of them. My daughter wouldn't have been interested in at least HALF of what is offered (especially if it has to do with any tummy time), but that's because at the end of the day, she's gonna do what she wants to do. There is very little to complain about with this calendar. The publisher upgraded it to a 16 month calendar (which was quite advantagous for me, as my 2008 version was destroyed beyond use in late July). The also rounded the corners of the front and back covers. This aids in preventing this calendar from being too badly battered if it is carried in a purse, backpack or bag, which mine frequently is. However, the edges of the covers continue to extend over the edges of the calendar pages by a good half inch. This would not be an issue if the cover weren't made of a heavy cardstock type material. But since it is, the edges of my calendar look like it's gone through a tornado by mid-year. I solved this problem by "laminating" the edges with packing tape. The publisher ... Read More:
