Lora Leigh has a reputation for writing books that are so steamy it is a wonder your hands don't singe while reading her books. This book while not as erotic as some of her books sure packs a lot of heat, too! In this novel, Navy SEAL Nathan Malone goes on a mission to rescue 3 girls but the mission goes wrong and he is tortured and maimed. When he is finally rescued he has changed into a man dark and ashamed. He decides not to contact his wife, who already believes he died. After reconstructive surgery, Nathan, now known as Noah, finds his way back to his wife where he is involved in another mission.

IMO one of the best books NR has ever written. From the moment I read the first sentences I was hooked up in the story and felt like I was actually part of it. The feeling was the same when I first read "Angels Fall" and that's another one of my favs.
The book is acout Cilla McGowan who just recently bought her grandmothers old farm to renovate it and finally build up a home for herself. Cilla's family is not an ordinary one with her grandmother being a famous Hollywood legend who comitted suicide, a mother who tries to step in the old ladies shoes but can't fill them, a father Cilla hasn't met too often and Cilla herself who was pushed in the spotlight buy her ruthless mother but is more interested in finding her own way.

Brennan, sure knows how to keep a reader on thier seat. The entire book I was betting that the culprite was someone else. The sub characters were just as strong as the main characters and it was good to see Nelia KinCaid have a story. I hope we see more of her in future books, and see her reconnect with her family as that leaves only two KinCaids without a main story (Jack and Patrick). Looking forward to her next book, even though March 09 is 6 months away.

I read the whole serie and this book is too short for a first book in a series of 6 books. The story is good but this is not the best of them all.

Like a lot of the others who have commented, I have found Nora Roberts hit and miss. This book was a hit for me. It had a little of that ends up a little too perfect romance aspect, but the dialog had me laughing out loud (in a good way). I also think the story line moves at a good pace. Definitely worth the $$ for the paper back or the kindle version. I even got my husband hooked on it.

The worst book I've read in a long time. A totally implausible story written in a soap-opera fashion with unrealistic characters. Rhage has always been the sexiest of the brothers for me, and Ward has written a very good second book, further developing her back story and cleverly laying the groundwork for future books (John/Darius, Zsadist, etc.).

However, I was just a bit disappointed at the ending.

Since I think Rhage is simply sex on legs, my pleasure at finishing the book was dimmed by learning that he would never be producing any baby vampires due to Mary's illness. Trivial, perhaps, but it seems like an unnecessary downer: if Mary's health can be restored, why not her fertility?
