This story is very sad, funny, and as thrilling as all her newer titles in the series. .Mr. Fix-It (Indigo Love Spectrum) City Travel Guides > Books > Series by: Crystal Hubbard September 01, 2008 This was my first time reading a novel by Ms. Hubbard. I was very impressed with the characters and the story line. Khela Halliday is an established romance author and Carter Radcliffe is the "handyman/super" for the brownstone that Khela lives in, or so she thinks. As the story unfolds, both are shown the story of each other's lives and learn to love again. Khela and Carter were meant for each other, but they both had to let their guards down to realize that and Ms. Hubbard was able to develop the characters to achieve this. They had to put away the "exes" file and get on with their lives. The fact that Khela is a romance author adds a little twist to it. My friends, that journey is over, at least for now. I can't handle the abusive men she has a heros. There is no way of sugarcoating this, but the rancher Jared Cameron is scum - seriously. FEARLESS was the bottom of the barrel and Rodrigo Ramirez (from FEARLESS) should have been shot for his abuse, but Jared Cameron (from this book) should have had something vital cut off. I have been reading Ms. Jackson's books since the very 1st Madaris book and I believe that I am fully able to compare and judge. No author who is as prolific as Ms. Jackson is hits a homerun every time and if a reader is being realistic, one should know by now that every book is not going to be a 4 or 5 star read. A personal favorite is "Ian's Ultimate Gamble". It has strong characterizations and plot believeability. This book has neither. Cole comes off as being quite a jerk! Being an alpha male does not mean pratically brow beating the woman into accepting him as her lover. THESE MEN ARE SO VERY SENSUAL THAT YOU CAN JUST ABOUT BRING THEM TO LIFE. I STARTED TO READ AT 8:00AM AND DIDN'T FINISH UNTIL 11:30PM, BECAUSE I TO READ CERTAIN SECTION(CHAPTERS) OVER.
