I've been living in Beijing for almost ten years. My wife and I live by this book, and our visitors from abroad use this as their comprehensive reference for their Beijing visits as well. Great book for expats and tourists alike!

My daughter (11) and I loved planning our trip to Rome with this book! It ended up being the only book we carried with us as we toured the Eternal City. The information was great with wonderful tidbits to keep the interest level high. There are terrific pictures throughout although without a frame of reference for size, we were always surprised to find out something was MUCH bigger than we thought it was going to be! That was always good for a laugh.
Since we were staying nearby, the recomended gelato stand between the Pantheon and Piazza Navona became our regular nightcap and it is the best in the city! Great tip! We even sent another family there.

I read through the entire book the first day I got it, and am sure I will reference it again and again before (and probably after) I relocate to London for six months. It's extremely informative, witty and well-written. Many topics are addressed that I hadn't even thought about. It covers do's and don't's for nearly every situation imagineable. The pronunciations and "glossary" sections the end of each chapter are most helpful.

We just returned from over a week in the Badlands and Black Hills. Although this book had a lot of very useful information, I hated searching through it. Everything is divided into its own category: hotels, restaurants, activities, etc. So when we were in one place for a day or two, we had to search through different sections to find all of the info for that one place. Even worse, each section is divided out by Northern Hills, Central Hills, etc. or by the type of food you're looking for. There was no central location to find all of the restaurants in Deadwood, for example. Apart from that, I found most of the info to be correct and useful. This guide is full of information and was extremely beneficial on my first trip to the Outer Banks. The chapters and index are well organized and easy to navigate. Have also used the Charleston book from the same series.

This is a very good guide to Austin, at least it seems the author has actually visited the city and done some research, the author seems to have a feel for the city. I am very familiar with austin, having attended UT, and reading through this book, I agree with most of its assessment of hotel, restaurants and sites. Austin has a reputation for being a great place to live, which it is..uh if you have lots of descresionary income, if not well, maybe not so great. Austin is not really considered a big tourist destination, but there is actually much to see and do there and this guide really fleshes it out. This book provides great information about vineyards in Italy in a very informative and humerous manner. I highly recommend it. We bought multiple copies as Christmas gifts.

I must say that I really enjoy this book. It is well written and provides alot of very good information. It is a good resource book to keep in your RV. I am planning to go full time RVing in the next couple of months and this book helped me to make that important decision. Read and enjoy folks!
