As a career consultant, I find myself responding to questions about the ultimate getaway: finding a new job (and maybe a new life) overseas. It sounds so romantic...till you get into the nitty-gritty of paperwork, taxes and health care.


This guide gets 5 stars simply because it does what it promises: offers a straightforward guide to those who are considering a move but have no place to begin. However, I would recommend (a) reading multiple guides and (b) talking to folks who have been there. Try to find someone who's been in your situation. A 60+ retiree won't benefit from talking to a twenty-something; a single person needs to understand how a culture interprets her lifestyle.

As a resident of Southern Colorado, I was looking for a guide of nearby geological, historical, archaeological, and topographical interesting day hikes and backpacking trips. This guide is exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend it to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge and opportunities for adventure in Northern New Mexico!

I was looking for a guide that explains me how a vacation in RV is. Pros and cons, suggestions, how to have a nice vacation if you are new to RVing. In the first 30 pages they explain all this, then it's just a bunch of chapters with vacation ideas. I already knew where i wanted to go, and my destination was not included in their suggestions so this book was completely useless for me. But if you are in your 40-50s, have an RV and don't know where to go in vacation, this is a good book for you.

I don't know if I'll retire there, but I definitely want to go to Murray, Kentucky, and see what the book describes as the largest "pubic" hospital in the lakes area. It "serves" the west Kentucky and northwest Tennessee region....

This book is outstanding if you are planning a trip to the Finger Lakes. Some books focus on the wineries and others may focus on wineries and restaurants, but this book goes far beyond that. It provides background on the many small towns that give character to the Finger Lakes region, highlighting points of interest, recreational opportunities and great insider tips.

If you buy only one book for your Finger Lakes trip, this should be the one. It is helpful for your pre-planning as well as a resource for dinner, lodging and winery recommendations.

I loved this book! The author shares many great secrets for finding out-of-the-way places to photograph. If you are looking for a book on technical how-to photograph, get another one. This book is all about location.

I bought this for my son-in-law for Christmas and he loved it! Every time I go to their house, I see the book in a different place and it looks like he reads it alot. He really appreciated the guide that shows what kind of camping, if any, is available at each hike location.
