I'm finding my torts class difficult at times, so I'm glad to have this book for my text. It has a lot of examples to illustrate each concept, which is helping me grasp all the ideas pretty well. Also, the book is not nearly as expensive as a lot of textbooks, so I feel I'm getting my money's worth out of it.

My parents were actually Egyptian Jews living in Cairo and Alexandria in the 1950s and fled in the mid 50s due to Nasser's tyranny. My mother has been reading the book the past week and has goose bumps reading essentially the same story, addresses, schools, bakery, cafes etc. of her life. True, every family's story is slightly different, but the facts are essentially identical. My mother and her family lived this story and actually knew some of the people in the story. Well done to Lucette on shedding light on a part of history that many do not know - only the Holocaust is focused on. So many Egyptian Jews lost their livelihood, fortunes, property and dignity simply because of their religion.

I'm not being law-snobby, I promise.

I bought the book because I was struggling to get my head around remedies, and although it helped, I ended up buying Lexis' "Understanding Contracts," too.

I should disclaim that what follows is based on the remedies section (that's all I used it for). That's a big piece of contracts, but maybe the rest of the book, which I didn't explore, is better.

Okay, here goes:

I found the E&E book to be imprecise with some concepts and vocabulary. It could be my own quirkiness, but to me that imprecision was maddening. In one paragraph, a plaintiff had "moved," "pled" and also "applied" for summary judgement. Applied??? SJ isn't a credit card! And it's not ... Read More:

Of course this is an awesome book b/c it is about the documents that this great country is based upon! I do believe that the size and type of binding should be advertised more. This is more of a pamphlet than a book!

I recently finished my first year at a top tier law school. This book did so much for me. If you are serious about getting good grades in CivPro, I think you should seriously consider this book. It forces you to understand the concepts and work through the rules, which is vital to doing well on exams. Don't stress about exams. This will help you.

The worst of the E & E series, this book is way too dense for its purpose. The questions (many, but not most, of them) are poorly written.
Instead of simplifying concepts it merely reexplains them in technichal jargon.
As mentioned in an above review, the Securities stuff is really good.
It's still good review- i.e better than nothing.

This is a must read for anyone feeling pinched by a job loss in the US or who is boiling mad about illegal immigration to the US. This book goes a long way toward developing a context and the reasons for the mass migrations of labor throughout societies. If you are not mad at the US government and the Corporations who own it- you soon will be!

I have the 2001 edition (first?) and it was very helpful in getting me through my real property class in law school. I've also been using it to help me during bar review, and it's been a godsend in getting me through covenants & equitable servitudes. I would assume the newer edition is even better. I would highly recommend it.

This book does an excellent job of introducing the concept of asset protection and includes strategies to protect assets. A number of protection strategies are analyzed to show the pros and cons of each strategy. Examples and diagrams are shown to help communicate protection concepts. Past court cases for some of the protection asset strategies are discussed to show the pros and cons of the particular strategy. I would highly recommend this book to learn about how trusts, corporate entities, and other strategies can work to help the reader make a decision to protect their assets.
