This is a very quiet and lovely story that I dismissed at first reading but have learned to love and can now read over and over. The heroine's future looks very bleak indeed, but her hard circumstances lead her to look for God. There are some very profound spiritual truths here having to do with God's care for us when life is difficult -- not everyone comes out unscathed -- and the main characters come to know God during the course of the book.

I LOVED this book. My heart was pounding during several narrative moments in the novel. There are lots of plot twists and turns, and the reader will never see them coming. I lost many hours of sleep reading this book because I just couldn't put it down.

Unlike Terry Castle of "The New Republic", I'm not convinced that Nabokov used Carol and Therese's trip in "The Price of Salt" as a template for the extended "vacation" that Humbert Humbert and Dolores Haze took in "Lolita". If he did, he expanded it in richness and depth about a thousand-fold. "The Price of Salt", while no "Lolita", is an interesting work in its own right. Carol and Therese meet in the toy section of the department store where the latter works; they embark on a friendship, and fall in love. Carol happens to be married, albeit unhappily. She also happens to have a young daughter. It takes the two quite awhile to sleep together, so those in search of quick, cheap thrills will undoubtably be disappointed. And when they finally ... I just finished reading `Strings Attached' for the second time last night, and I'm just as curious to know what happens next as I was when I read it over a year ago. The writing is fast paced, and has moments approaching some of the best literature I've read. Nolan has a gift for description, so you can really see what is happening in the story. I especially loved the scenic descriptions and the relationship between Jeremy and Arthur, and how many surprises and twists there are toward the end that I absolutely didn't see coming. The Pinocchio theme is subtle, so you can read this and enjoy it with or without knowing the references in the story. I loved this book, and can't wait to buy the sequel (when is it coming out???)

Well here we are involved in a mystery crime that brings all of characters of Sloan, Michael, Rebecca, Sandy, and the rest of the crew back into the world of child pornography and more. They need all of their considerably talents to get closer to what or who they are after.
More mayhem more drama and more of the pieces of a puzzle that Rebecca cannot get a handle on.

Where will it lead them? Hopefully a few steps closer to Justice.

Interesting story that starts off well but in the last fourth of the book ultimaltely takes a turn towards the unrealistic, corny, and predictable in a big way. I really wanted to like this book to the end but too often improbale reactions and dialog turn the characters into unbelievable personalities with unlikely qualities.

Excellent gay murder mystery that kept the reader guessing for a long time! Measured backstory on the psyche of the killer gave the reader another dimension of the killer. What horrific events lead this man/boy to commit the murder of gays. Where his rage came from and his helpless life that caused him so much misery.
Well-developed characters and great descriptive narratives of places, murder victims, etc.
Thoroughly enjoyed the novel!

I read the first book in this series and enjoyed it alot. Very interesting plot and the story flows. I know the endings are to keep us waiting and wanting and the ending of this book does exactly that! Can't wait until the next book is out!
