As a corporate director of human resources, it is a good day when I find a book that can actually be put to good use in our managerial training. This is one of those books. In fact, it is one of the rare books that weeks and months after using, I still find that managers refer to "cheese" when dealing with change management problems and solutions.

While change certainly means different things to different people, the basic underlying theme is the same. The world as we know it will cease to exist and how will you respond.

Other posters have commented on outside services associated with this product, but all I can speak of is the book itself. Fish! is the best book out there on finding the fun in work and turning dreary days into high energy activity.

As for a book that builds teamwork between peers, gets management and subordinates working well together, and creates top-notch performance that everyone can be proud of (not just the boss) there is no better book than Squawk!: How to Stop Making Noise and Start Getting Results

The book has great points and is in a sensible format. It has little bits of information within the text and provides definitions at the bottom of the corresponding pages -- that's a big help.

I purchased this book in concert with a promotion thinking it might be useful during my transition. While it was informative and on point, most of its lessons were obvious to any seasoned leader and frankly it was a very dry read.

If you are new to management or have not had much developmental time in improving your management skill this book will be valuable to you. Leadership ? I could recommend a number of better books for the first 90 days...

The title "execution" may make you think this book is about executing decisions after they have been made. This is not at all the case. This book describes everything you have to do to develop strategies that are likely to succeed. It describes three processes, the strategic process, the people process and the operational process. The book describes in the most detail the people process. If you do not have the right people in the right positions the strategic process and operational processes will fail. This is a great book. It is easy to read and held my interest. Many of the principles included are those we already know, but have never seen them explained or really examined them ... Although it is not a Christian book, I found this book to be full of truth.
