This is a great purchase for anyone wanting a good Batman comic who's familiar with Batman and his journey through the years. His return sparks much interest throughout Gotham and the world and one of his friends that has fought along side him against the villians of the DC universe. The imagery is surreal and Frank Miller has outdone himself again.

The shipping was quick, and my new copies were delivered without any hassles. This is a great buy.

This is one of the most intriguing origins that have been created for the Clown Prince of Crime. This, along with the Jack Napier origin, is definitely a strong one. The artwork is nicely done, and the dialogue is smart and witty. The dark nature of this graphic novel is not for kids, but it is for every one who is a Batfan/Jokerfan. And the killer joke at the end is priceless, typical material from Batman's most notorious enemy.

This is dark, creepy and so much fun. Got me hooked and ready for more. Those who are interested in the much more bitter side of any graphic novel will get a lovely little kick out of this one. I had to read it twice to take in all of the amazing details both written and drawn. It was wonderful to see the not so goofy side of the Joker and all of gang in Arkham, including Batman himself.

If you are a fan on the Batman movies, the comics, or the batman mythos at all then this book is a must read. I have always been a fan of the batman series since I can remember. This book offers a great history of the caped crusader. Not only does it introduce the hero of the story but a few of the major supporting characters and how they came to be. It really shows how far gotham has fallen into corruption and crime. It is a very good read.

I have only recently started into graphic novels, but out of the ones I have read I would rate the batmans from best to least favorite as follows:

1)Dark Knight Returns
2)Long Halloween
3)Killing Joke
4)Dark Victory
5)Batman: Year One

Long Halloween has a great story (which continues in Dark Victory), great art style, and is just fun to read. Highly recommended.

This piece of fiction is one of my favorites of any genre, not just graphic novels or comics. Sandman is compelling and original in its characters especially in the way Neil Gaiman weaves myth and traditions into an unfolding scene. There are very few books I can read or movies I watch were I can't either predict what will happen next or predict the end. With Sandman Preludes I couldn't predict anything and it was great to be taken on a trip with dream.

Which brings me to the five reasons for 5 stars:

1) The showdown in between Chorozone, the High Duke of the Eighth Circle and the Dreamlord. This was a very, very interesting twist on the old "shoot out at the OK coral." I loved it.

Dark Victory expands upon The Long Halloween, and has a story interesting enough to please fans of Loeb's original Batman-mob story. Robin isn't played heavily, which is a good thing for me, but any Batman fans should pick this up.

Having read BOTH the book and graphic novel I can say that the story line in the graphic novel is told from a different point of view and in a totally different way then from the book version I would recommend reading the book version first then the graphic novel that way you can see what the graphic novel skipped over or shows a small part of it. (I would have liked to see the robotic versions of the jedi council that starkiller fights while fighting another jedi master in the book version) It does show you what Proxy looks like as well as the Bull Rancor. It also tells WHY (in both the book and graphic novel) Starkiller when from being a sith lord trainee to a jedi trainee.

Chibi Endless!!

I love how the first two appeared, and the bit in the gallery is perfect!

And yes, the rest is up to standard- ie Gaiman's amazing standard!

Beautiful art, but the story lines! just wow. The characters have a reality to them. Delirium, in particular, reminds me of someone I know. The stories unfold so naturally.
