I review the updated copy of this each year and think they could have put more maps and photos in. Also, they tend to highlight the well known restaurants and not the local places, which I always thing are the hidden jewels in each country. Otherwise it's a great book.

A good sourcebook that lives up to Fodor's standards. The major sites are listed as well as a few off the beaten path type places. In depth and useful information peppers the book, as well as the section near the front where the things you absolutely need to know about traveling in Great Britain are listed. A user friendly guidebook that's worth buying, reading, and carrying as reference.

I bought both Paris and London 2008 books for my upcoming trip to Europe, and I enjoy both. The guides are easy to read, tell you how to make the most of your time at various locations, tell you how to get to where you want to go and provide a variety of eating and shopping locations for all budgets.

This book offers little more than a condensed version of their regular guide book and doesn't add any new kid specific suggestions.

It was so hard to chose a travel guide for a country I have never been to that I obsessed over the choices available. I finally settled on Frommer London and Foders England. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't find any mention of an area of England that I must spend time in due to a work obligation, in the Fodor's guide. I couldn't believe it!!! I should send it back for a refund, but instead you can look for it in my third party bookshop sometime in the near future.

Great book - I visited a friend in Scotland who had never been a "tourist in her own country" and we both found the book to be very helpful in choosing what sites to see. Will use it the next time I visit.

The only drawback is that it's hard to figure out exactly where the restaurants are in relation to the visitor attractions. Maybe a map with the the restaurants noted on it would help.
