Fisher June 12, 2001 In the introduction the authors tell us that the purpose of the book is to be both luscious magazine article and guidebook. In my opinion they have done both. However, I have been to the Amalfi Coast more than once, and it is possible that I am swayed by my love of the place. The photographs in this book are amazing. I love to take pictures of the Amalfi Coast myself. I think that the photographer does a magnificent job of capturing the beauty of the coast. In my opinion the Amalfi Coast of Italy is the most beautiful place on the planet. Once you have experienced it, you will want to return each year. You cannot use this book as your only source of information to travel to the Amalfi Coast unless you have a large ... .Short Escapes In France, 2nd Edition: 25 Country Getaways for People Who Love to Walk (Fodor's Short Escapes in France) City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors Escape by: Bruce Bolger April 30, 1996 Thanks to this book, I had a wonderful experience at Auvers-sur-Oise ("cradle of impressionism"). It showed me where to go and how to get there. Unfortunately, the train trip took much longer than the 1 1/2 hours mentioned in the book. The connection at Pontoise alone was at least an 1 1/2 hour wait because of delays. Then a transfer on a bus was necessary. However, this was no fault of the authors and the book's walking tour was excellent.
