Designed for travelers with a couple days of free time, it shows you the highlights through walking tours. A small map is included, providing a quick overview of London's layout. The city is broken down into districts (ie. Soho & West End, Covent Garden & Trafalger Square) with a selection of restaurants, stores, and attractions for each one. All in all, a good deal. One note of caution however: this guide is the same size as a credit card, but the covers are magnets. So don't put this near any of your credit cards or computer disks. Designed for travelers with a couple days to spare, it shows you the highlights through walking tours. A small map is included, providing a quick overview of Paris's layout. The city is broken down into districts (ie. the Left Bank, Bastille, & Le Marais) with a selection of restaurants, stores, and attractions for each one. All in all, a good deal. .Fodor's to Go: Italian for Travelers, 1st Edition (Fodor's to Go) City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors to Go by: Fodor's June 13, 2000 The book is a great Spanish phrase book with useful phrases for travelers broken down into useful categories. Particularly useful is a pronunciation guide. The biggest let-down with this book was its size and page format. Although I exepected this traveler's phrase book to be small, I didn't expect it to be as small as it is. It measures 2.25"x3.25" and is a magnetic type book with all the pages connected together in an accorian style. .Fodor's to Go: How to Pack, 1st Edition (Fodor's to Go) City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors to Go by: Fodor's June 13, 2000 While information in this book is useful, it is not worth the $8.25 you must pay for it (including shipping). The "book" is tiny, about 3" by 2". But, when you are at home packing, you don't need such a small book. The print is also very small. .Fodor's Alaska Ports of Call, 4th Edition: Where to Dine & Shop and What to See and Do When You Go Ashore (Special-Interest Titles) City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors to Go by: Fodor's December 28, 1999 Fortunately, I didn't buy this book. I flipped through it in the library. While I didn't spend a lot of time going through it (not much to go through anyway), I can tell you that, in terms of content, this is a lightweight guide. The information on Vancouver, in particular, is embarrassingly brief. Considering what the city has to offer, this guide will cheat you of a more fulfilling visit. There are less than half a dozen options each in terms of activities, restaurants, shopping, and sights. .Fodor's to Go: 48 Hours in New York City, 1st Edition (Fodor's to Go) City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors to Go by: Fodor's June 13, 2000 It certainly is a cute little book, very portable. The maps are nice and I can just imagine myself walking down the street and whipping out the book to find a cozy little bar in Chelsea. However, the book it is very out of date. Here is an example excerpt "WHERE TO START DAY 2: World Trade Center. The twin towers practically define the lower Manhattan skyline....." .Fodor's Europe Ports of Call, 3rd Edition: What to See & Do When You Go Ashore (Special-Interest Titles) City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors to Go by: Fodor's December 28, 1999 The descriptions of the ports were extremely limited due to the number of ports covered in this book. Since most people who cruise Europe tend to cruise one region, it would make more sense to have more detailed books devoted to specific regions. I bought this same type of book for an Alaskan cruise last year, and it was great, but there are fewer ports in Alaska.
