This book changed my life!!! I think the recipies are fast, inventive and taste awesome! I have lost 30 pounds and I owe it to this book! I also love the section that lists the "safe" things to eat in different cuisine restaurants as well as gas stations, long car rides. It really helps keep me on track no matter where I go.

Another huge bonus for those of us on Weight Watchers is that you can look up on line EVERY recipe in the book - get a picture and nutritional breakdown WITH the Points already figured out!! You can't beat it! My favorite recipe so far - "Lord of the Onion Rings". It's only two Weight Watcher points for the entire recipe!! Pollan is an extraordinary writer: here he takes a subject that could easily be dry as dirt and turns it into a completely absorbing, thought-provoking tour de force. Though very occasionally overwritten, this book is never boring. It will teach every reader to think twice about both the source and the true cost of the food they eat. Recommended reading for absolutely everyone; even more particularly for anyone with a real interest in food or simply in developing their social conscience.

This book has completely changed how I choose food--and I thought I already knew a lot about healthy eating. Now I know how to maximize nutrition even in the foods I already eat (like melon and broccoli) by how I cook and store them. I have seen a real difference in my nails and hair, and my eye doctor recently told me, after examining my eyes, "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it."

I love watching La Puma on his ChefMD.com website--he's funny and gives great advice. And his book is funny and well written. Highly recommended.

The authors provide hope that personal choice in selecting locally grown and natural whole foods can positively impact our future. It helped me make the move to a more healthy lifestyle. I'm actually pretty excited about this book. It's definately different from her other previous books in that it seems less "Italian", but there are still some really fresh ideas in there. I noticed some people saying they've seen all these recipes on her show already. I don't get to watch her show too often anymore since it's on while I'm at work and any other day you have to hunt on the Food Network to find it with all these new shows they have on now, so for me these recipes were a lot newer. Over the weekend I already tried the balsamic barbeque chicken (delicious!!!) and the lemon risotto. I personally loved the risotto because I'm a lemon lover, but my husband and in-laws didn't seem to like it (hmph!) because they thought it was too tart. I can't wait to ... Read More:

I read a lot about molecular cooking on the internet. In fact, I even tried making fruit caviar at home.

This is cooking on 3 star level - it's just very very hard to do at home. Yes it can be done with time and money and many attempts, however you have to be really dedicated.

For most, this is just inspiration. Beautiful pictures, awesome ideas on taste combinations and how they approach and develop recipes.

Lastly, the Alinea Mosaic website backing it, it encourages to just take this and do your own. I probably will never cook a single recipe out of this book, but will take some ideas for plating. I also will experiment with dehydration which I never considered and may take single elements out of recipes and add that to my own.

This cookbook is great and provided me with great stuff for my husband and I to eat. Trying to get Coach D to eat healthy is kinda hard. So if I fill him up on these great dishes, maybe I can keep him healthy. Most of the recipes are easy and quick to fix.
