During our recent, 1st trip to Paris, we relied heavily on the Michelin guide to ensure the style of food and service was appropriate. We were not disappointed. The reviews were accurate and up to date. Since the guide coevers France as a whole, there is a gap in Paris coverage. There are many more great restaurants not listed, so we recommend getting a second book to supplement their coverage.

Loved this book. Used it in July '08 and it reflected the French passion for food. The restaurants reviewed were accurately portrayed. Their particular specialties were listed as well as the prix fixe & a la carte costs, etc. In short, you have all the info you could possibly want about restaurants...locations, hours, phone & fax numbers. I would definitely use it again for my next trip to Paris. Buy it, you'll really like it.

Recommended by my French professor, I leaned heavily upon the expertise of the Michelin Green Guide during my first trip to Paris. The guide proved its worth over and over again. Despite the abundance of tourist guides for Europe and the vast expanse known as the Internet, this particular guide deserves a special place in your travel bag because:

It is thorough. Every detail you wanted to know - and some you could not imagine - can be found in this Guide. Architecture? History? The nearest bus stop? It's all there. Unlike most tourist books, the Green Guide covers ALL OF PARIS. You will find every big and little neighborhood arranged in alphabetical order.

This map was absolutely invaluable to us - all roads from the large autoroutes to the more rural "departmental" roads are clearly indicated. The mileage/travel time chart was also extremely helpful in planning our day trips. We had several maps with us, but by the end of the second day this was the only one we used.

I purchased Michelin Battle of Normandy Map No.102 to help us guide ourselves around Normandy this spring while looking for war ruins such as bunkers, and memorials and cemetaries. The map is very detailed and was excellent for planning the trip before arriving in France. However, after driving in Normandy, I was startled that I could actually depend on this map for navigation! Even though it is a map from the 40's, many things have not changed in Normandy! While some cemetaries that were identified on the maps are no longer US cemetaries (for example, we exhumed our dead from a current German cemetary and reburied them in the US cemetary near Omaha beach), practically every other feature identified on the map is accurate. Maps are good, but could be a little more complete. Found a typo or two on it, but worked for me to navigate to more obscure parts of Alsace.
