I appreciate Bill O'Reilly and all he sheds light on. About his book, I thought it was an excellent recollection of his life. As another reader stated, it was like a view into the window of a world that no longer exists in America.

I think Bill has worked hard for where he's gotten and deserves to be there. His father would be proud (in that old school way of not making a big deal, if acknowledging at all.) To those who left really negative personal attacks - why did you even bother to purchase the book? It's clear you did not have to read his book to dislike him.

This book is not a heavy read, but a sit around the pool read of a woman on a journey of self discovery. All along her journey were tidbits of learning, new people, and good food. All the things that would make her savor the cultures of each place while finding her authentic self.
I took a journey like this and it was awesome, It is all about seeing new places and finding out something new about self in each place.
This is a spiritual treat.

This very moving autobiography is just a sheer delight. Mr Wagner writes a very honest, gutsy book. It is a rich tapestry of Hollywood and emotions that take you on a wonderful journey through another era.
From the way he describes his relationship with Natalie, his feelings of loss......the strength he managed to find to go on, it makes this a special book indeed.
One cannot help but be struck by Mr Wagners emotional intelligence.....it is truely remarkable. No wonder he is close to so many people.....no wonder they are so close to him. He is a truely rare human being. While he is awestruck with his fellow actors, he is never intimidated by them, and his relationships with them are a joy to read.

Teh lolcats on teh interwebs are SOOOO much funnier than the lolcats in the book. I regularly laugh so hard my stomach hurts at the lolcats on the website, but this book only got a couple of chuckles out of me. This was a big waste of money - I'd do better just perusing my favorites on the site.

What struck me most while reading this book was discovering along with the writer how little I know about where my food comes from, how it reaches me and what has been done to it along the way. Very rewarding were Pollan's sense of curiosity, courage, determination and integrity in looking at the truth of industrialized food, to pulling the trigger in the forest, hauling hay, standing knee-deep in excrement with "534", and firing up the grill for the sake of having an authentic knowledge, not just a label with a barcode. And it started to bother me that I really had no idea where my (extremely important and life-sustaining) food had come from or how much coordinated effort it took to get it to me.

I thought this was such a funny book. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are a Chelsea Handler fan, you'll love this book. I can hear her saying and doing some of the things she describes, well written and true to Chelsea.

Interesting book. It inspired me to spend more time working on my own (small) garden. I learned new things about lactose intolerance and cheese making, and I'll probably try my hand at making cheese sometime soon. I also learned a bit about slaughtering fowl, which I haven't had the opportunity to do.

However, I found the main premises of the book annoying. The author wants all our food to be generated locally, by independent small farms. She opposes the long distance transportation of food, primarily due to the general wastefulness and energy/pollution expense of the process. She opposes corporate farms because they are involved in questionable GMO practices, pollute, and are leading toward reduction of species diversification.

From the first page, this author grabbed me and I couldn't stop reading. I wanted to feel sorry for the family, but never once did I get the impression that they felt sorry for themselves. From struggle to success these kids are all surviors. My heart went out to them all during the book. I would recommend this book to all of my friends.
