This (audio) book has some good examples of bad execution that lead to recent high-profile corporate troubles, and then gives some suggestions on how to do things. A lot of it is common sense and discipline, though, but there are a few helpful items - especially if you didn't pay the new-item proce and got it used :)

This is a classic (pun intended) example of what's happening with books that many of us read in the `60's and `70's. The books were written in the `20's, `30's, and even earlier. The Secret, which was no secret, was based on these authors' books. I ordered two of Dr. Joseph Murphy's books to replace ones I had given away only to find out they had been "revised." I was so disgusted I gave them away. Genevieve Behrend's books have been taken over by Joe Vitale. His name even appears first on the covers. The description for one of them starts out with, "Fiery Texas author breathes life into dead woman." If you really want to know what Napoleon Hill had to say, get the original version. This is a good book for an overview of the mortgage banking operation. However, any such book that fails to mention Rangel, Franks, or Dodd is lacking the substance required for full comprehension.

My fantasy of having great wealth is to start a foundation that would give a book a week to every member of Congress, every state legislator, every government policymaker, every opinion columnist and every candidate. This would be the second book we'd give out. First would be Sowell's "Basic Economics." Yes, it might not do any good. I recently cited to a newspaper columnist Sowell's history of what happens to government revenues when you increase the Capital Gains tax (hint: the opposite of what's expected). The columnist told me those were "right wing facts" and he wasn't interested in any facts that supported business. Really. excellent-generally reality does not sell-1 platoon to many rambo type films (example).particularly in self defense-survival etc. feel good fantasy sells.
this is one of few practical books on these subjects I was born in South-Bronx and grew up On East Harlem-Yorkville border.in Armoury gang at 15 later served as Medic in Viet Nam.Then as a bouncer on Resturant Row-Hell's Kitchen.Now law enforcement on "Rock" the world's biggest jail.also part time free lance writer.

A great read. If your organization is a learning organization and is interested in finding a book that is a page turner for those who do not normally read then this is a book for you. The authors found a way to present the concepts of the next generation of leadership in an easy to understand easy to follow dialoge. The next generation of leadership in my opinion is idea that empathy and social understand are crucial to being a leader. This book will help give an organization a common vocabulary to discuss issues.

This is great book for the financial aspects of retirement. But, if you'd like a book that contains not only information about money but all the other areas of retirement - relocation, working, travel, volunteering, psychological aspects, etc., get a copy of The New Retirement: Revised and Updated: The Ultimate Guide to the Rest of Your Life

I received The New Retirement as a birthday gift, and it has everything in it about retirement.

Fish! is a great book that teaches you how to have fun at work and make your job into something you enjoy coming to each day. It tells the story of a woman who goes through a transformation to learn this very thing from an unlikely source: the fish mongers at a Seattle fish market. A cute story and helpful book that has been used effectively in my company.
