Phyllis Galembo's photographic skills are legend among those whose interest extends to African and Afro-Caribbean religions. In this area she never fails to impress and satisfy. I am happy to have this book.

In addition to her brilliant photographs, Galembo offers detailed, profound and soulful explanations of Vodou belief. She is one of only a very few authors to have done so. This book will serve to inform and enlighten both the curious and the expert. Bravo!

Great book - very informative!! We actually moved to the island for awhile and found the book to be very helpful. We also found the local islanders to very friendly. The beach we enjoyed the most while living there was Mullet Bay, it had great waves for body surfing and playing in the water! If you have small children may not be the best beach for your family though!!

This is a useful book for some pre-dive trip planning. It gives basic information about the islands such as best time to go, language, etc. It also list places to stay and eat on each island. While that can be useful, I use more up to date information I find online.

However, the dive site information is very good and useful. It rates each dive site with stars, tells you what to expect to see, how deep each site is, etc. So when you get to your destination you will have an idea of what sites you want to dive.

This comes in especially handy when you go to places such as Cozumel when they ask you what sites you want to dive that day. With the info in this book, you'll know what you want to see.

We had just returned from 2 weeks of sailing to various islands in the French West Indies and wanted to see more of St Bart's. This is the perfect book. The photos are beautiful and really portray the warmth and beauty of this lovely little island. We were looking for the answer to the the question of would we want to spend a few weeks there and the book lead us to conclude with a resounding yes. Any guests who see it on our coffee table cannot resisit.

Whew-w-w. This is a great entry in a great series of travel books. Thick (thick!) with useful information. The consistent format, the amount of information, the compact physical size of this book make it a must carry reference guide for the Caribbean traveler!

This book lists the Tropicana as the #2 hotel after all the big themed hotels. I chose the Tropicana over two other hotels based on this book's rating, since I've had luck with these Top 10 guides for other cities like Cancun, San Fran, and Seattle. This book is a bit outdated, but even a couple of years back, the Tropicana couldn't have deserved to be #2. In fact, I would rate it #2 on the list of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.

We booked a Garden room, but they put us in a Tower room at first. The hallways were dark, with peeling wallpaper and damaged wood trim. I used this book in planning a recent trip to Culebra, PR. This book provides the best coverage of any book in print. If you plan on travelling to Culebra or Vieques, don't leave home without it. Ths book also provides a good history of the islands as well. Makes your trip a much richer experience.

The book is designed to offer a good list of places to scuba relying on the use of dive operators - it lists many. Its use for a couple who just wish to go alone (in a buddy system, of course) is limited, since the locations are not exactly defined. The book also offers a lot of advice as to many facets of diving in these areas. In general, it is an excellent book with the caveat of not giving exact coordinates nor reference points by which to find the specific spots.
