i was one of the few among my peers who had never read one of the Maus books. When i finally got around to it, i was blown away by its excellence. This is a masterpiece (and i do not use the term lightly). Do yourself a favor and don't miss it.

If you encountered the movie first and are merely following up on the book, keep one thing in mind. This is how the story was originally intended.

Initially, when I read that Alan Moore was not happy about how the movie turned out, I was puzzled. However, after going back and reading this original Graphic Novel, I now understand why. The movie (while providing for it's intended effect) leaves a multitude of things out.

The story is much more complicated and the characters are provided much more depth herein. In fact, anarchy aside, I would say that this graphic novel is a completely different story. It's a must grab.

This was a fairly good book, revealing much about Sasha's origins and Tigerstar's time in ShadowClan. Sasha is much more meek than how she is portrayed in the TNP series, and her feelings for Tigerstar and her reasonings for wanting to be with him are explained. The story is told from her vantage point, up to the end where we are left waiting for the next book. It is admittedly overshadowed by the great Eclipse, (properly named) which has brought back Warriors fans everywhere, but the art is good, and I am left anticipating the next book, which promises even more. The book is slightly overpriced for one of it's size, and the fact that it is not an actual novel, but I do recommend that you read this one.

I received this and a corner of the slipcase was badly damaged. So much so that the books weren't going to be slipping in and out. As one reviewer said, the books aren't held together well, but with care and the SLIPCASE, they may be ok.

So, I ordered a replacement, sending the original order well-taped at my expense and having to go to UPS, gas at my expense. The replacement ALSO came with NO bubble wrap and in a box that also couldn't handle the weight and barely taped at that. Thus the book was falling out of it, and the box was severely torn up. This time, the fabric on the slipcase was ripped up badly (yeah, that would make a nice gift.)

So I called and asked that they bubble wrap the replacement. Now they are refusing to replace ... Read More:

I thought that overall the series was great. An interesting concept, well written, and decent art. The ending however was not up to the overall quality. I didn't expect a fairy tale ending -- but I did expect something interesting and fair to the characters we have followed through 10 volumes. Meh.

Whoaaa. So much worse than the first one, what happened? The only story I actually enjoyed was, surprise, Dawn's, of all peoples, and even there we got basically nothing. I said for the first one that it was just "how much skin can they show", but WHOA, did they push it further this time, to the point of disturbingness. I'm sorry, I'm not reading these for that, or for the action, I'm looking so very hard for plot and I can't find any. This is so unreal. Faith is with Giles all of a sudden, and Buffy is not. Willow is horribly un-Willow, Buffy barely has a role, Xander and Dawn are the only ones with a good story but it's not being told. There's nothing interesting happening. I kind of hate this. I want my old Buffy back!

I must say that I find this work hard to properly describe in terms of how I feel about it. I think that it was a fascinating look at one man's experience in the Holocaust, but an equally important aspect is Art's interaction with his father during their conversations. This seems like an honest portrayal, especially since Art isn't afraid to include things that may make himself or his father look bad (he isn't always the most sympathetic son, at times a narrow-minded father). I think connecting the story of what happened then, and how it's effects are apparent for the rest of a person's life (although different people reacted in different ways) is interesting.
