Dark Victory expands upon The Long Halloween, and has a story interesting enough to please fans of Loeb's original Batman-mob story. Robin isn't played heavily, which is a good thing for me, but any Batman fans should pick this up.

Lighter in weight and tone than From Hell or Watchmen, League appears on the surface to be more rompy fan fiction than reinventing the comic. It was while reading the net's wiki 'Notes on League of Gentlemen' that I began to appreciate each panel's detail and 'mass culture references', to quote TMBG. Three words - a friggin' joy. Now, if I could just summon the moxy to delve into 'Lost Girls'.

Having read BOTH the book and graphic novel I can say that the story line in the graphic novel is told from a different point of view and in a totally different way then from the book version I would recommend reading the book version first then the graphic novel that way you can see what the graphic novel skipped over or shows a small part of it. (I would have liked to see the robotic versions of the jedi council that starkiller fights while fighting another jedi master in the book version) It does show you what Proxy looks like as well as the Bull Rancor. It also tells WHY (in both the book and graphic novel) Starkiller when from being a sith lord trainee to a jedi trainee.

Wether you're 5 or 55 we pretty much all grew up watching cartoons : )
(Both Marvel and DC) This book as well as the Marvel encyclopedia (with the same format) are awesome for refferrence. They answer any the questions you may have about your favorite superhero's or supervillians...(or even people who only made cameo appearrances for one or two episodes.)
What made The Joker so cynical? What is Poison Ivs' real name? Where was Alfred the Butler born ? What kind of special powers does The Penguin have? How many episodes has The Green Lantern been featured in ? What is the name of Supermans' fortress? READ THE BOOK!!!!!

This is a very good adaptation of the best part of "The Gunslinger" and the entire "Wizard & Glass." I read the single issue first, but unlike some of my fellow reviewers, I did not miss the extra background material that has been cut out. It is not as good as some classic graphic novels (like "The Watchmen"); however, it is still an excellent telling of a classic story. This is fine work by both King and Marvel. I would recommend it to any fan of King, Marvel, or graphic novels in general.

I got this book for my birthday and I'm really, really glad that I got it. Want to get that out of the way first. As a basic reference source it's excellent as a geeky coffee table book it's pretty much without peer. It's on my desk at work and at least once a day I get into a vigorous debate or pleasant conversation about Marvel and Marveldom. On a personal level, as the only guy in my neighbourhood who collect all of OHOTMUDE (seriously, the comic guy got one copy of each issue and kept it behind the counter for me), it's just a fun read.

Unfortunately, while it could have been much more than that, it's really just a fun read.

There are numerous typographical errors, about one every two pages or so. Either the origin issue is wrong, ... Read More:
