I have just started studying for my certification for the .NET Framework and this book is real helpful. It provides me with answers that I was not able to get through school. I have learned some new things that make developing a bit easier now that I have learned about some different approaches with this book.

I dont normally review books, but I thought this one was worth reviewing. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who works with dreamweaver and wants to create modern, standards compliant websites and web applications.

The book is well written and thoroughly covers the subjects it claims to cover.

Each chapter is also written in such a way that it could be read independently of the other chapters. This is highly useful if you only want to cover one or two of the three primary subjects covered (css, php and ajax with Dreamweaver cs3).

I haven't finished the book yet, but I feel it is packed with lots of good info, like others have said, ESPECIALLY helpful for beginners and students. Not as much about just layout as I expected, lots on typography and design in general, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Lots of tips and info I found valuable as a junior graphic design student.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! This is a book seems to be targetting retarded. There is a chapter on datbase concepts - if some one does not know, it is unlikely they will be reading reporting services. Too much fluff and descriptions are buried in the fluff. If you skip the fluff, you may find yourself difficult to connect dots. Too much details on formatting fonts, colors which is completly useless.

Last March 2007, I purschased the Vista Visually Series that this writer wrote. And, I was so impressed with the author and the content of this book that when I discovered this newer Vista book by the same author, I bought it as well. The reason that I bought this book that I wanted a quick overview on both Tips and Tricks of Vista. After one year using Vista, I have learned so much more about it. Yet, there is always more to learn and an easier and better way to do things in Vista. This author gives you 10 very easy to read and follow chapters that give wonderful and helpful information yet do not bore or overwhelm the reader. The graphics are excellent! In short, this book is a perfect start developing form Mac and also iPhone, the title is a bit misleading as it only mentions ObjectiveC but the fact is that it takes you in a very coherent and well written fashion to C and also Cocoa framework.
Great book, buy it.

I have read this book. This book is very informative. The author has explained the concepts in detail and in good way. It covers the .NET Framework 3.0. So i don't know is there any changes from .NET 3.0 to .NET 3.5.

The book is irritating. (-2 star) I keep wasting my time looking for every little star, cross, double cross, ... symbol in the text. Almost every page has comments at the bottom, and these comments are denoted by tiny symbols. I'd like to see the authors find all the text that goes with all those comments. They really need to listen to their own advice and write the book for people who will be reading it.
The book is incomplete. (-1 star) The authors keep mentioning things that will be discussed later or not at all. I have to look for the topics on the Internet to get an explanation.
The book uses terms without fully explaining them. A beginner would not understand the terms without looking them up on the Internet. (-1 star)
