What a trip! This book gives you most of the details you need to get on the train and get an education. Time passes fast so take advantage of each moment. Four men just returned from Beijing to Moscow (August 2008), the trip of a lifetime. Very helpful guide into the cities and scenes along the way. It doesn't tell about all the great people riding the rails with you. Friends forever!

This cookbook is wonderful, I went onto Amazon looking for an Italian cookbook and found this one. It has everything I was looking for, every Italian recipe that I needed and more. Photographs are great and put you right in the old Italian setting. Love this item.

We just finished a three-week trip to Italy, and found this guide totally reliable. Even if you don't speak Italian, you can puzzle out the essence of the reviews, and you can't go wrong with restaurants listed.

Not a bad book at all! I am not a hippie though. If you are, which is perfectly great, this is the book for you! It is all about finding the best deals and an honest review on all hotels, hostels, restaurants, night life and of course "coffee houses" hee hee!

Ordered this book after seeing the movie "Bottle Shock" this is so much more interesting. The movie was cute but a bit stupid ... The book is great with lots of real history and technical info. on wine that I find facinating.

We've visited London more than 20 times over the last 10 years to visit family, and we still use the millenium edition we picked up in 1999 at a shop down in Soho. We take it out with us every day, and use it constantly. We always browse the guide books for new ideas when visiting, but when it comes to getting around the city with ease every day we resort to this book. The bus lnes and tube stations are clearly marked, the landmarks are useful, and we can always figure out how to get from place to place with ease. It's just the right size to carry, we find the A-Z is either too small to read or to thick to carry, and this guidebook has just enough extra info to make it more useful anyway. Overall I agree with many of the other reviews here in that the information presented by Ms. Platt is helpful for someone moving to France. Don't expect a well written or well edited book though. Some sentence structure simply doesn't make sense, which is odd because Ms. Platt's native language is english.
