But when the opportunity came about for my husband and I to spend a long weekend there, I absolutely took it. I love the city (in small doses, couldn't ever live there), but hadn't ever had a chance to do any touristy stuff. So I read some reviews and picked up this guide. I spent a few days reading over it, and after my trip, I would say it's a great guide if you don't know what you want to do, or how to structure your days, because it has very specific suggestions for stuff like that. It has a section for each part of the city, at the end of which is a run down on a sample day one could spend in that neighborhood. Lots of pictures, helpful information especially for first time visitors to Budapest. The size of the book makes it easy to take along while exploring the city. Sights, restaurants, markets, etc. for any one location are scattered through the book. Few helpful maps or walking tours. I especially like the Survivors Guide and Traveler Needs sections. .New England (Eyewitness Travel Guides) City Travel Guides > Books > Eyewitness from: DK Travel 2003-09 If you are going to take a tour of New England this is a must have book. It includes great ideas for touring around Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. If you are only going to Boston you are probably better off buying the cheaper Boston guide but any tour of New England needs this book. The pictures are great and as always the division by region is a great way to see things. .Eyewitness Top 10 Travel Guides: Rome (Eyewitness Travel Top 10) City Travel Guides > Books > Eyewitness by: DK Publishing July 01, 2002 If you are traveling to a city and spending only a short time (3 or less days) you need nothing more than an Eyewitness Top 10 Guide. I will never go anywhere without one. It categorizes and boils things down, but the print is large enough to read. If you will be spending longer in your destination (for instance you are studying abroad) you will want a more comprehensive guide. I used it on my trip to England, it was truly invaluable. I was able to navigate myself around with the help of this book.
