.Fodor's Croatia and Slovenia, 1st Edition (Fodor's Gold Guides) City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors by: Fodor's May 02, 2006 I bought this book thinking that it would be convenient to have both countries in one book. A chapter or two in Let's Go wasn't going to do the trick for a jaunt to Croatia and Slovenia, and the idea of carting two books around didn't interest me. That being said, it might just be worth it. The book is poorly organized. The bulk of the information is on Croatia, and it doesn't provide some information that I consider critical such as train lengths or often even basic prices for hotels (let alone some form of currency converter). Frustrating as well is the fact that while Fodor's tells you about the food in Slovenia in a separate section, you have to hunt around for Croatian food. .Fodor's Around Boston with Kids, 3rd Edition: 68 Great Things to Do Together in the City and Beyond (Around the City with Kids) City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors by: Fodor's July 24, 2007 I think the potential buyer of this book would do better buying Frommer's Guide, as I used that rather than this guide on a recent family trip to Boston. This book was just too limiting. When I originally purchased this, I thought it might have been more "kid-friendly," but none of my three children were interested at looking through it. It is really meant more for adults to see what's available in Boston and families. Another disappointment was that there were no maps nor any rhyme or reason as to how they listed the 68 "great things to do together." They were not put into any sort of geographical organization, which hurts the book as well. Yes, the descriptions given in the book were fine, but once more, I think a more complete guide (such as Frommers) ... It also features some great day trips out of the immediate area, including Olympic and Mount Rainier National Parks. The description is short and precise and for the places we visited, accurate. The guide is small enough to be taken along and served the purpose for us. .Fodor's Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, 10th Edition (Fodor's Gold Guides) City Travel Guides > Books > Fodors by: Fodor's October 03, 2006 We have just returned from our trip to the 3 states and we found the guide helpful, more in the planning than in the actual trip itself. I would suggest this and one of the other guides, like Froemmer, as well as searching the net for options. One negative-the map that is included in not of a scale that is helpful to the driver. Too many missing roads. The maps in the sections, as well as the numbering system for attractions, are a plus.
