I just got back from a trip to Toronto and I found this book incredibly helpful. I bought it mainly for the restaurant and shopping chapters (which were great) but the best parts were the walking tours. There are three days of complete itineraries plus several walking tours of different neighborhoods, and they were so interesting that I ended up spending most of my trip following them. I feel like I really saw the city, not just the touristy highlights. Some of the places I wouldn't have found on my own, and others, like the University of Toronto Campus, I wouldn't have thought of visiting (there are two art galleries on the campus though so it's definitely worth a visit).

This was the perfect book for our first trip to NYC. The subway lines were accurate and easy to use. The fold out maps were perfect! All of the attractions are here with key tips, directions, and insider info. Follow the mapped out walking tours and you'll definitely see The New York that you imagined. The hotel info was okay, but more accurate info is available online. We'll definitely use our book again for the next trip to New York. Overall, this is a well thought book, and the perfect size to fit in your purse.

We bought this book for our trip to Madrid. The restaurant reviews were mostly dead on, but the review of our hotel forgot to mention that the hotel charged 10 Euro/day for TV (Gran Hotel Conde Dueque). DO NOT rely on the maps in the book, they're not accurate and have some of the Metro stops several blocks off. We had a great time by following suggestions in the book and would buy it again.

I was disappointed with this book and don't think I'll buy another Frommer's guide again. Restaurants that had rave reviews were mediocre at best. I like these reference books to find the hidden treasures of an region but Frommer's just skims the well known and obvious choices for travel. Save the money and do your own research online.

We have a shelf of Frommer guides, US cities, Canada, Mexico, Europe & Asia. This was the first bomb. I found it totally useless and not up to the quality I expect from Frommer. Since it was the only guide to Vienna we had with us I feel my vacation was negatively impacted by it. After this experience I will not automatically purchase the Frommer.

The book was well-written, but repetitive. The same city sites came up in almost every chapter. The restaurants reviewed were mostly tourist traps. The food was decent, but overpriced. Do not go out of your way to visit the Varsity. While the food was inexpensive, it was sub-par. We did not drive, but used the MARTA system. The sites were often no where NEAR the MARTA stop listed in the guide book. More emphasis needs to be placed on the fact that downtown Atlanta is dangerous after dark, and there is not much to do in the evenings (once the few attractions close).

I was looking for a book to consider taking a trip to the Adirondacks. There are not many with just that topic. In the past I have used Frommer's travel books happily. I knew this would have good information. It was more than I wanted, covering the whole state which would require a lot of info on NYC, but it was worth my while to purchase.
