This book served its basic purpose, however did not contain many specifics, for instance: it mentions to do a self guided walking tour of the King William District but they only give you the main street in the King William District--directions for a walking tour would be nice since there are several areas that aren't very worthy of a tour.

The worst part of this book, however, was that the main San Antonio map had a critical HWY missing! It appears that HWY 151 was extended to HWY 90 several years ago, but the book has it stopping at the 410. This provided us with several overdriven directions until we discovered the error. I usually like Frommers but I think this one needs a little tweaking.

There are a lot of travel guides, and I particularly like the Frommer's guides because they take care to include a handful of very local experiences in each category that are generally difficult to find and more rewarding than a typical tour-bus barrage.

I also like them because I am familiar with their layout and know the basic biases of the reviewers (skewed luxury, where there are several multi-hundred dollar a night hotels and just a handful of cheaper accommodations), but one inconvenience is that the book marks you as a tourist and is a bit hard to carry if you're trying to navigate Beijing without a fanny pack. There are not too many Croatia guide books out there that are up-to-date. Most of the restaurant information and hotel information was accurate. There were a few places that no longer existed (this is a May 2006 version and I was in Croatia in October 2006). My biggest complaint about this book was the lack of maps. There were no good city maps to help you get around. If you want some basic information about Croatia and what to see this is a good guide. But if you need more help in selecting places to stay, what to eat, how to get there and what you are looking at this isn't the guide book for you.

I wish this guide had colorful maps. I originally bought it looking for information about hiking and trekking activities in the Parks and was somewhat disappointed by the monochromatic maps with poor information about trail distance or duration.

I have always loved the Frommer's Guides and this one is no disappointment. Very useful information, with plenty of listings of restaurants, hotels, and attractions which coem in handy in a guide book. Other guide books do not have nearly as much information. So I highly recommend this one - short & sweet!

This book is packed with helpful information. Whatever region you find yourself in, you'll find helpful information for whatever you may want to do, whether it be finding the perfect place to eat, finding a place to stay, or even things to check out, trails to hike, etc. This book was an asset to my planning of my last trip to montana and wyoming. A very worthwhile investment, highly recommended!
