Many of the main attractions in St. Petersburgh and Moscow are museums and the like.

Museums in both cities tend to be closed at least one day during the week. It is different days for different museums.

There were a significant amount of attractions (probably about 1/3) in both cities where the book had incorrect days. So we'd show up on a day it was supposed to be open, and they were closed. Or the hours were wrong. Or the book would say that they had english tours and they did not.

I was extremely disappointed at such a major oversight.

I'm headed to Cancun soon and was looking for a comprehensive guide to Cancun. While the title of this guide starts with Cancun, the guide covers all of the Yucatan.... the section on Cancun is only 15 or so pages. I was disappointed with the limited infomation on Cancun... a handful of restaurant recommendations.... brief, not very informative descriptions of the outdoor activities... it's more of a general overview instead of the in depth guide I wanted...

Just came back from Belize. Book is inaccurate in many ways and missing a lot of information. Prices are way different than what the book suggest and I'm not even talking about some restaurants that were recommended in the book ..... bad bad bad !!! Directions are sometimes very poor. If you tell people that one place is worth the find, why don't you give them a little bit more explanation on how to find it ????? After driving in the middle of nowhere for an hour, without a soul to ask for directions, we just gave up. Overall I have the impression that Frommer's caters more for the wealthy, which is the easiest. When you pay a lot, it is easier to get satisfied. If you travel on a budget, it is a lot trickier to find good places to stay and eat. ... Read More:

Finding this book in Dallas at a major bookstore was next to impossible.Seems like there is little demand for books on the South Pacific. This may be due to expensive airfare to the area and lack of crusie ships traveling in those waters. The book contains the regular Frommer sections and much of it we have "tossed" since we are traveling on a cruise ship. Dining out, hotels, ect. won't be of much use. When I searched various web sites I did not find a lot of great information. This book at least puts the reader in touch with what's worth seeing in Tahati, Moorea and Bora Bora---these are stops our ship will make.The book has a copyright date of 2007 and the sites discussed throughout the book won't be changeing.We found the reading and recommedations ... My husband and I purchased this book to help us as we traveled in Cabo. The information was incomplete, inaccurate, and dated. It failed to warn travelers about the constant barrage of time-share vendors (even in the grocery store and before you leave the airport) and omitted practical advice in dealing with them. The prices listed were too low. The "quality" of many of the restaurants listed was inaccurate. We got more practical tips from local literature. This book was a waste of money.

This is the only book I bought for my trip to Switzerland, and I was able to get by very well with it. I visted Zurich, Lucerne, Lugano, Bern, Interlaken, Zermatt, Montreaux, Lausanne, and Geneva, and found the book to have all the information I needed for each city.

The format is easy to use, with listings of hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, bars, nightclubs, etc., for each city, and the book includes info on virtually every city and town in Switzerland that a tourist could want to see. For major cities, the book even has maps showing where hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions are located, as well as more detailed maps of proposed "walking tours."

I would strongly recommend you look at other guides to Washington D.C. as Frommer's Washington D.C. with Kids was not helpful and actually was a hindrance. This book gave us misinformation and was completely out of date. I will just share two of our experiences from our first days in D.C. we disregarded the book and relied on our concierge from then on...

The Zoo: Frommer's emphatically advised to get there early (it 'opens' at 6:00) and that you should stop first at the information kiosk to get a map and the daily schedule for feedings etc. They also stated that the Animal Crackers Cafe was open for breakfast. Well, we got there about 8:00 and NOTHING is open until 10:00....not the information kiosk (so we were without maps or schedules and ... Read More:

My sister is moving there and it has everything you need as far as bus routes, prices, restaurants, and the listings are mostly price oriented such as least expensive to top dollar and includes a ton of phone numbers. Not so much history or mountains to climb but it can plan your trip for you all around the island whether a week trip or more.
