I've now been to Denver twice and found this book to be a great resource. Their itineraries are really helpful, and the maps and write ups are right on.

I was looking for a book to consider taking a trip to the Adirondacks. There are not many with just that topic. In the past I have used Frommer's travel books happily. I knew this would have good information. It was more than I wanted, covering the whole state which would require a lot of info on NYC, but it was worth my while to purchase.

This is the only book I bought for my trip to Switzerland, and I was able to get by very well with it. I visted Zurich, Lucerne, Lugano, Bern, Interlaken, Zermatt, Montreaux, Lausanne, and Geneva, and found the book to have all the information I needed for each city.

The format is easy to use, with listings of hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, bars, nightclubs, etc., for each city, and the book includes info on virtually every city and town in Switzerland that a tourist could want to see. For major cities, the book even has maps showing where hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions are located, as well as more detailed maps of proposed "walking tours."

I found the information in this book much more useful than any other travel guide I have purchased. The lodging information for Yellowstone, for example, describes the state of specific room types at each location!

For quite some time I've regarded Frommer's Travel Guides quite highly - no more! Recommendations in this book for the city in Mexico that we visited are so far off base that they're clearly out.

For instance, we stayed San Miguel de Allende early this year. Frommer's regards Azulejos Talavera Vazquez, a ceramics shop, as "exceptional." In what way I politely ask?

We shopped at Vazquez and plunked down a good bit for dishes that we have never received. Vazquez does not respond to emails or calls. The supposed shipper (Destinos) does respond to emails - with one excuse after another. His posts are not very well written but imaginative - last stating that our shipment is now out of their hands. I was disappointed that there wasn't much said for Connecticut in this book and almost half of the book was on MA. There are other states in New England other than MA!!

Well researched and plenty of information. Gives details on what to expect, how much you may pay, when to go etc. I hope that it had more pictures but other than that, this is the only book you'll need.

In trying to decide which book to get for traveling around Europe for a few months by rail, I looked through this book, Let's Go Europe 2008, Rick Steves Best of Europe 2008, and Europe by Eurail 2008. The latter of these was broken down into sections devoted to major cities, and day trips by train from those cities, which seemed too much like a trip organizer for me. Rick Steves didn't really include the practical point-to-point info I was looking for. Let's Go Europe was comprehensive, but the city maps just weren't that clear.
