. Murder in the Rue Ursulines: A Chanse MacLeod Mystery
City Travel Guides > Books > Gay and Lesbian
by: Greg Herren
October 01, 2008
Like many residents in post-Katrina New Orleans, Chanse MacLeod is still a bit "shell shocked" by the experience, but keeping up his private investigations business, with help from friends and referrals.
One such referral, to track down the source of some threatening e-mails, develops into a murder investigation. The target of the e-mails is Freddy Bliss, the male half of a Hollywood A-list couple, who had relocated to New Orleans to help with the rebuilding. When his ex-wife ends up murdered, bludgeoned to death with her Emmy statuette, suspicion turns initially to Chanse, who had interviewed her earlier that day and actually handled the murder weapon, and then to Freddy, when Chanse testifies that he spotted someone resembling ... . My Fair Captain
City Travel Guides > Books > Gay and Lesbian
by: J. L. Langley
April 01, 2008
The writnig and plot were good. The concept of a futuristic world in which male virginity is prized was an interesting one, if derivative of Dara Joy's The Ritual of Proof. If Joy's male virgin suffered from the unrealistically-rapid onset of emotional and sexual maturity, the male virgin/bride in My Fair Captain suffered from a continuing and total lack of maturity. Although he was in his mid-twenties, he thought and acted like a tween or young teen -- in fact, he was no different in attitude or behavior than the groom's teen son, with whom he was hanging out. Meanwhile, the groom is a hardened combat veteran and mature man. The disparity in age and behavior was so great and so emphasized by their domination/submission of their bedroom relationship, ... May 15, 2008
Pat St. James is a 23 year old gay man, a police rookie fresh out of the academy, who lucks into a special assignment going undercover to catch a serial killer going after young gay men. Closeted at work, and under the supervision of a rather homophobic senior officer, Pat and another closeted gay cop, Hank, hit gay cruising spots and bars, wearing microphones through which they can alert their backups if needed. When it is revealed that this is much more than the work of one deranged sicko, but an organized attempt to kill as many gays as possible, Pat and Hank become the centerpiece of a joint police and FBI investigation that puts them in personal danger every night as they try to "bait" the killers, while at the same time trying to hide the fact ... by: Gerri Hill
November 18, 2008
This is a very quiet and lovely story that I dismissed at first reading but have learned to love and can now read over and over. The heroine's future looks very bleak indeed, but her hard circumstances lead her to look for God. There are some very profound spiritual truths here having to do with God's care for us when life is difficult -- not everyone comes out unscathed -- and the main characters come to know God during the course of the book.

. Remember Tomorrow
City Travel Guides > Books > Gay and Lesbian
by: Gabrielle Goldsby
August 12, 2008
This is a truly wonderful book. The two protagonists, Cees, a TV show hostess, and Arie, an enigma wrapped around a mystery, are believable, likable women who care deeply about each other, that have their inner demons which stand as almost unconquerable obstacles in the path of their affection. Gabrielle Goldsby weaves an enchanting tale of past hurts, present conflicts and future hopes, spiced with just enough hot erotica to make a one of a kind story.
Read this book, you won't regret it.

Suppose you were walking down the hall at work one day, minding your own business, when suddenly someone pulled you into a closet and gave you the greatest kiss you ever had in your life? And it was a woman? And you were straight? You thought. If you found yourself reacting in a way you had never felt before, you might have to follow those uncommon emotions to rethink your whole life.
