This is an amusing conglomeration of climbing stories. Humor, greed, suicide, and sheer bravery all included in these stories. Parts of these traits could be in a single story depending on which stage of the climb you are in. Written well, and it seems to put you right in touch with the climbs. However, through fault of the writer or of the storytellers themselves some of this seems to be a bit over the top. He could have been a mixing it up for entertainmnet value or for some other reason. But it should still be read by anyone who is into climbing.

I bought this book for good friends who were taking their first RV trip from Southern Missouri to New England! They used it from Day One - For food stops and even an emergency stop. They were so pleased with the book and I was glad to have chosen such a great gift!

My kids love this book.

It's a list of places that the Imagineers have incorporated the Mickey Mouse shape into Disney World parks and resort hotels, some easy to find, some difficult. (For example, we found one in the queue for Expedition Everest, on a lantern that had dents in it in the shape of Mickey's classic head.) It was good fun for when waits would get the better of the young'uns. Gave them something else to do besides look at the myriad of details that are there already.

If that sounds good for you, this book is worth latching onto...

We were tourists to NYC. Had great info on places to see in every area of town. Good thing to have in your bag with you... Ideally order it a few weeks in advance, so you can plan what you want to see ahead of time.

Perfect for carrying around for quick reference to the DC area. It is sturdy, and won't rip apart. Having the metro map is a huge plus.

I just got this last night and let me say, I cant put it down. It has so much info. If you like wine tasting , try these areas,,or hiking,try this region. It has lots of tips and is well written and going to be a great help when I make it to Italy. If you are looking for a good book to help narrow down areas you want to see like I was,this is the book for you.

It was my first time in China and I went to both cities. The book was very informative, complete, well illustrated, and easy to read. Everybody in my group kept asking me to read it. I got to see other people's books and they did not come close. I strongly recommend this book.

Good read - lots of useful suggestions. Very good on the barrios or neighborhoods.
Somewhat out of date - e.g. the Sydney Opera House style nightclub referenced in the section on the docks has apparently been burned out for several years.
