The eyewitness guides are a pleasure to read .Many great pictures and plenty of detail .I am as pleased with this one as the others I already own .These guides are books you actually pick up and read again after you have completed your trip.

I took a trip with my family to Oregon a few months ago and we used this book as our guide, and it ended up becoming our Oregon Bible. We stayed for about a week and stopped in many locations: Portland, the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood, Bend, Eugene, and all the way up the coast from Florence to Cannon Beach (and we still barely scratched the surface, it seems).

We did the recommended restaurants, attractions, parks, hikes, and lodgings and found the descriptions for each were spot-on and detailed. We mostly ate and stayed at the no-star/one-star places and even those were excellent. I just got back from England last night and took three of the day trips described in this book: Winchester, Dover and Hampton Court. Obviously these guides are somewhat subjective, so I didn't always agree with the authors' opinions on certain things, but the factual information on how to get from London to the destinations was spot on. Their suggestions on obtaining a Brit Rail pass and/or a Great British Heritage Pass saved me loads of money and time. I would also recommend England for Dummies, which is also by Frommer's. It gave some great general info about England and London not in this text.

This is a very well written, organized book for anyone planning to travel to Alaska by cruise ship. It contains very helpful information comparing cruise lines, also. I highly recommend this book.

I have now almost worn out my second copy of this book and have been thinking I need to invest in a third. This is THE best travel guide to New Orleans (actually, to any destination, come to think of it) I have ever read. I bought three or four different guides before my first trip to New Orleans; this is the one that made the others unnecessary. Many NOLA trips later, this book that still goes with me every time I return. In this Frommer's edition, Mary Herczog's voice is not so much that of a travel expert--although she is indeed that, and her advice is thorough and invaluable. The book is great - all sorts of detailed information, tips, and maps. A must have for the Caribbean traveler. It gives detailed info on the best places to shop, eat, sleep, and relax. It's going with us on our next cruise, and we've already picked out some places to go. Thanks, Fodor's!

My only complaint is with Amazon.com. You shipped it to the wrong address and then ignored my email asking for help. My brother then shipped the book to me at his own expense...and you then ignored my email asking for reimbursement. Nicely done. And THIS is why I canceled my Amazon Prime membership. Caveat emptor, indeed.

This is, by far. the best , most inclusive travel guide I have seen on India. It gives us the kind of information we need to make the most of the relatively short time we will be there...such as attractions, lodging and dining in the cities we will visit.

EYEWITNESS TRAVEL GUIDES are the best guides you could find. I've bought every one they have published to the places I have visited, and always know where I want to go and what are the most important places to visit,
with the pictures and 3D images of the buildings and maps I don't get surprises as to visit a place not worth while. You optimize your travel time. I have about twenty of their guides, just hope they increase the places they review in the near future.
