When I ordered this book, I was looking mostly for some basic techniques to help me with some beaded browbands (for horse bridles) that I had gotten into making. While it was minimally useful for that, it sure inspired me! I rather promptly ordered some basic wire-working tools and I've spent way to much in the last few months on beads, tools and wire. I have a bunch of new earrings I love to wear, several new necklaces, I have designed pieces for most of my female Xmas giftees and I'm considering starting to sell my work! I purchased this book mainly due to the picture of the water urn on the cover. The plans for it are included. This book has a lot of information regarding water sources and water collection and containment. Recommend for anyone interested in water collection/conservation. I do wish the pictures inside the book were in color (the are all black and white).

Never Not Knitting! 2009 CalendarI know its not 2009 yet and YES this is a 2009 calendar but IT IS Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. I have flipped through it and read many of the entries. Very cool stuff and classic Pearl-McPhee. If you are looking for a great Christmas present for the knitter in your life, this is the thing to buy . . . even when 2009 is over, s/he will keep it!

This is the answer for parents who do not have the time to read huge books on crisis control when it comes to energy draining toddlers climbing the walls of parental tolerance!

The book covers the classic problems of toddlerhood and provides simple solutions. The index leads you to a right on message that can be read in just a couple of minutes. And for those who have more time to spend, there is a list of books for further read on each subject.

We have other books that are more in depth but tend to just collect dust in our household. Finding time for books is hard when pressed for time, but this one we use A LOT and would even take with us on travel.

A highly recommended book in deed!

I lost an amazingly loveable Dalmation named Roosevelt in July 2008, and I think Mr. Levin's book was very helpful. While there was some sorrow during the reading, it helped to realize that many people out there feel as my family and I do about how wonderful and childlike a dog really can be...and feel the same pain as we do when they leave us.

As some others have mentioned, the content here is better than the execution of the writing. While Levin may not have the command of telling a story that some do, his attempt here to convey his joy and sorrow over Sprite will hit home with those of us who "get it" over the loss of our best friend.

I've had the original series since they came out, and I still go back to these books for information. Not only does she give advice, she shows how she came up with it and how to modify it to your life.

I use her recipes all the time (have the granola one memorized, we use it so much). It's worth having this just for the recipes. These books are how I was able to stay home with my kids, even though I made twice what my husband did.

Although I gave this five stars, there are a few things you might want to know (if it matters). The index in the originals was not that great. I own dozens and dozens of books on decor, flowers, weddings, entertaining, gardens, etc. I didn't get this one right away, but waited for awhile. I've seen many of the images on the zillions of decor blogs out there. But it doesn't compare to having the book, and holding it your hands. Great interiors, great photography, breezy easy text. This edition is a good addition for your collection of books to inspire you.

This is a book to enjoy its photos, to enjoy what it says about the photos, about the houses, and to enjoy it all over and over again. The simplicity, the raw, the antiques, the contemporary, all find amazing fit! It shows Mr. Vervoordt as a genius in his expertise. Armelle Baron descriptions and Christian Sarramon's photos make a perfect match. The title "Timeless Interiors" says it all.
