I bought this book recently and have found some very detailed information for cooking without electricty, building shelter and other important information. Although at the moment it is in the house, it might be good to keep it in the family car.

This book has become a useful guide and inspires me to do more with my garden. Previously I'd give away or mulch seasonal crops that were too successful but now I intend to build my own cellar. I was also impressed by the choices of recycled or re-used materials in the construction.

How can you not love someone who writes, "What makes a boy from Ohio, born in the wrong century, raised on Tater Tots and Birds Eye, end up wanting to eat like a Greek peasant for breakfast, a French peasant for lunch, and a Moroccan peasant for dinner?"

This book is beautiful, inspiring, intelligent and unpretentious. It is laid out by seasonal menu, rather than classes of food, and gets you thinking about the experience of food as much as the creation. The recipes are well written with lovely pictures, clear formatting, and good descriptions.

This book is a perfect reference for anyone interested in seed saving from vegetables. I purchased this book not knowing a single thing about seed saving and have learned heaps of useful knowledge from it. This is truly THE essential book for seed saving, but the majority of the content in this book is most likely to be used as reference for when the time for implementing the ideas approaches. And also, there are loads of pictures which really help for visual learners, a great example of the good pictures is the section on seed saving from tomatoes using the fermentation technique.

Well, this is a superb book and has quality, and quantity of things to seed save from. Highly recommended. 5/5

I started training from this book when my dog was 9 weeks old. The tricks are great mental stimulation for my puppy and takes his attention away from chewing on the couch (for a little while). The great thing about this book is that it helped me explore my puppy's personality. For example, I had trouble getting him to roll over. He'd go part of the way and stop. So instead, we practiced play dead. He got that immediately and it's so cute to say bang and watch him flop over on his back. This book gives a variety of skills to learn so if your dog is having trouble with one, do another trick and come back to that one.
