I have purchased over 200 copies of this book in the past 2-3 years -- I include it with my own materials for a basic mediation class I teach for Ohio's oldest community mediation center. While I don't teach out of the book per se (it's not a teaching manual), it is an excellent companion to the class and one participants can refer to months or years after being trained.

Some of the strong many strengths of The Mediator's Handbook:

I have been using Gilbert's as THE black letter law book for my studies. The organization of the layout works for me. I find their exam tips to be helpful and their coverage of subject topics is detailed enough that I can remember it but I am not overwelmed. I have friends who prefer some of the other companies - it is best to shop around and find which style works for you.

I agree with the basic premise of this book that the current anti immigration reaction is racist and is wrapped in poor economics and scapegoating.

However the author has clearly never even read basic economic theory because she is assuming that wages have dropped due to the wealthy snagging more money from the pockets of the masses which should make you wonder who would these capitalists sell to in that case? A mass of dirt poor customers?. After all you can get rich selling to the rich but you can get far richer by selling affordable products to everyone. Besides since there are more moderate to lower income people than the wealthy where do you suppose the most amount of sales would be concentrated.

This book tries to cover most aspects of defensive or tactical shooting. It is NOT about surgical accuracy. In fact, I have not found any book that is about achieving accurate shooting technique, besides the US Army Pistol Marksmanship Training Guide which you can find for free online, and which is better than this book. On the topic of defensive shooting etc, Gabe Suarez's books are probably the best bet for you.

Pros:
- well illustrated
- concise and to the point
- latest techniques and most current thinking explained; up-to-date

Cons:
- chapter on trigger control is shortest in the book, even though author says this is the biggest accuracy problem for most shooters

I ordered this thinking that it contained the LSAT questions, their setups, and their answers. I guess I didn't read the description well enough, because it really has only the setups for each problem. I wasn't too upset about the lack of actual problems--the majority of those can be found in the 10 LSAT (10 More and The Next 10, I think) books--but I was really disappointed that they didn't have explanations for every answer like in the Logic Games Bible. Overall, the individual setups are much shorter (about 1 page/game) than in the LGB (several pages/game). There were explanations for some answers, but not for all of them. For someone like me, who's not exactly a whiz at Logic Games, though, it's worthwhile. Basically, I love the LGB and think a mediocre supplement is better ... Read More:
