.Let's Go Map Guide Madrid (2nd Ed) (Let's Go: Map Guides) City Travel Guides > Books > Lets Go by: Janet Evanovich April 15, 1999 My daughter gave me the Let's Go Madrid Map Guide before my husband and I left for Madrid this spring. I had given her Let's Go Europe years ago and had always regarded it as a college student's guide. But we were on a tight budget and so we brought it along. What a pleasant surprise! The maps were great and there is so much information about everything in that little booklet. And it is so nice and small -- it fit right in my purse. I loved not having to carry around a big book all the time. Best of all, the good directions saved us from having to use our awful Spanish. .Let's Go 2003: Central America City Travel Guides > Books > Lets Go by: Janet Evanovich December 01, 2002 Besides "Let's Go Central America", I took two other guides with me for a three week stay in Nicaragua ("Moon Handbook-Nicaragua" & "FootPrint Central America" [see my reviews]). Though this is a good guide, the others were better. 'Let's Go' targets a budget minded, backpacker audience. In this Central America guide the descriptions of the regions, areas, cities and town are more abbreviated; and they lack the depth, explanations and information needed to allow you to appreciate where you are going and what you will see and experience. For example, the entire description for a fantastic archipelago in Nicaragua called `Archipelago de Solentiname' is only eight words, "Renowned for its natural beauty and minimalist paintings." ... .Let's Go 2001: Peru Bolivia, and Ecuador Including the Galapagos: The World's Bestselling Budget Travel Series City Travel Guides > Books > Lets Go by: Janet Evanovich December 01, 2000 I only bought this because it has Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia and I was going to all three and only those three. I previously used the England, Scotland, Ireland one. These books are not geared towards travelers who travel to learn rather than be sporty. They are helpful to an extent, but the Lonely Planet books seem to be more intelligent. .Let's Go 2003: South Africa City Travel Guides > Books > Lets Go by: Janet Evanovich December 01, 2002 I used this book in 2004 and it was outdated already. In Swaziland, street names had changes and Youth Hostels had moved--all before the research was conducted! Very disappointing! I used to highly recommend any "Let's Go" guide. However, when they stopped updating it on a yearly basis, these guides are not worth it any more (unless you get one that's just published). City Travel Guides > Books > Lets Go by: Harvard Student Agencies 1991-12 I used this book in 2004 and it was outdated already. Lets Go guidebooks are not in general as thorough as Lonely Planet but give more information of why to go to a destination rather than just about transport connections, hotels, and restuarants. Italy, 2000) City Travel Guides > Books > Lets Go by: Janet Evanovich January 01, 2000 On my trip to Italy I found this book VERY unhelpful. The maps were not detailed enough and while in Florence I noticed at least 3 other groups of American tourists all of us looking for the same Let's Go restaurant that did not seem to exist, this was after looking for another recommended restaurant whose street did not seem to exist. .Let's Go Map Guide Sydney (2nd Ed) (Let's Go Map Guide Sydney) City Travel Guides > Books > Lets Go by: Janet Evanovich March 20, 2002 I bought just about every guide I could find before my recent trip to Sydney. This is the one I ended up carrying with me at all times. It has the maps you need, and enough basic info on the locations and attractions that you'll always have some idea what to see and do next. .Let's Go 2001: France: The World's Bestselling Budget Travel Series City Travel Guides > Books > Lets Go by: Janet Evanovich December 01, 2000 I always find the Let's Go guides very easy to use and loaded with information, and this was no exception. They are very thorough; you'd be hard put to have a place in mind that is not touched on in some fashion.
