Signspotting 2 continues the franchise with more humorous wit and wisdom gleaned from oddball and haphazard signs around the globe. Small doses of this humor have been shown to dispel gloom, get small groups laughing, and cause good-natured head scratching. Grab a copy and keep it close---you never know when stuff this funny might make someone's day.

I do have to say that the captions prove a bit distracting and that I think most folks would rather come up with their own tag lines for these truly funny photos.

I have lots of guidebooks - and lots of Lonely Planets, for that matter. But despite the fact that they say they are for "independent travellers", I keep finding ridiculous reviews on restaurants and hotels, to the point where I've stopped using them.

The History, Snapshot, and similar sections are great, but if you have a brain of your own - use it. Forget their restaurant and hotel recommendations, as I'm not even sure they visit the places. Sometimes they have history or comments on places that is worthwhile to read, though. All tourbooks may have these drawbacks, to be fair.

This guide is great as an overview to this fabulous city and accurancy for the more permanent tourist attractions (Freedom Trail, for instance!) is good - but several restaurants have already shut down/changed names/management so be wary of those reviews.

I have used many different guidebooks in my travels and have never come across a more basic, substance-less work. Is the author actually contributing to the growth of this country with his job in Xela...or just hanging around the country like the bum, pothead travelers in San Pedro. Take this guide off the shelves and promise us better in the future. No Stars.

I have used Lonely Planet Guides for all of my trips. They are invaluable. This particular guide has a few failings. One is the map of the underground and bus routes is way too small--almost unreadable. Another is that there is very little information about certain sections of London. It concentrates on the tourist attractions and neglects the areas of London where it would be nice to know of a decent restaurant or 2. The information on how to use the underground is lacking in detail, particularly on what ticket to buy and how much they cost. It covers the main points but there is little detail. LONELY PLANET ALBUQUERQUE, SANTA FE, AND TAOS is a great book on the rugged northern section of New Mexico. The three cities the book focuses on each have their own charms, especially Santa Fe, with its live-and-let-live attitude providing for healthy ethnic diet ideas that will be useful for anyone who's trying to look good for their favorite actor or actress. Other ways to achieve that dream, such as hiking and bicycling in the mountains surrounding these three cities, are also discussed, as are shopping opportunities and radio stations. Overall, this book is a wonderful addition to any travel library.

Just got back from visiting 8 countries in three weeks and this book came to my rescue many times. I'd recommend making photocopies or pulling out the pages for your trip so you do not have to lug the whole book around. This was a great way to get an idea of what to plan to see (the cities in two days boxes are really helpful to make a plan and the food recommendations are great (the prices are super helpful). I will definitely buy an updated version of this book if I ever do a similar trip!
