.Moon Handbooks Belize City Travel Guides > Books > Moon Handbooks by: Chicki Mallan, Joshua Berman October 28, 2004 My husband and I just returned from a 16 day trip to Belize, and this was definitely our favorite guidebook on the trip! We bought this book as well as Fodor's Belize, and together they were the perfect combo. The Moon book was right-on for budget travelers who want to be more than a tourist--the authors' sense of humor & interest in getting to experience new cultures really made the book. We used the local buses for transportation and tried to stay in places under $50 US (which isn't hard in Belize!), and this book was right-on with recommendations and descriptions. The only negative was that it is getting a little more out of date in regard to lodging, restaurants, and prices, but that's why we bought the Fodor's book as well (Fodor's ... This one is without a doubt the best yet. The prices quoted are about 2/3 of actual but the economy in Argentina changes quickly at times and all are in relation to inflated costs per vendor. .Moon Handbooks Charleston and Savannah (Moon Handbooks) City Travel Guides > Books > Moon Handbooks by: Mike Sigalas December 16, 2002 I hoped to kill two birds with one stone with this book as I plan to visit both Savannah and Charleston. I have only made it to Savannah so far, but found this book very sparse on information. There was only a very small section on Savannah which contained one lone page of restaurant listings. There was also only a small piece on Bonaventure Cemetary (two paragraphs), and the book did not include any maps or directions to get you to the cemetary and it is quite off the beaten track! .Moon Handbooks Alberta and the Northwest Territories, Fourth Edition: Including Banff, Jasper, and the Canadian Rockies City Travel Guides > Books > Moon Handbooks by: Andrew Hempstead May 10, 2001 This book was indispensible for my recent travels through Alberta. It contains detailed descriptions of all the best places to go, including some great small town festivals that I would of otherwise missed. The book also has many hikes included, mostly in the Canadian Rockies. I budgeted to spend around $50 a night for motels, and found that this book described many good choices in this price range but also includes campgrounds and more expensive places. .Moon Handbooks New Zealand (Moon Handbooks) City Travel Guides > Books > Moon Handbooks by: Jane King, Andrew Hempstead November 14, 2002 We found this to be an excellent handbook. There were handy maps of each region and fairly comprehensive reviews of things to do both in the major destinations and off the beaten track. For example, on our visit to the Waitomo region we noticed a few nature sites noted on our driving map withoout explanation.
