This book is an excellent read and may be quite an eye opener for the masses. It's true to its purpose which is a "confession" drafted to ease ramping guilt by raising awareness of America's far-reaching detrimental corporatocracy.

I found that the facts within this book are easily verifiable as Perkins offers avenues of research, much of which are public-record.

Fish! is a great book that teaches you how to have fun at work and make your job into something you enjoy coming to each day. It tells the story of a woman who goes through a transformation to learn this very thing from an unlikely source: the fish mongers at a Seattle fish market. A cute story and helpful book that has been used effectively in my company.

This is a fascinating book about the collapse of one of the largest and most sophisticated hedge funds of all time. The book gives great insight to the hedge fund world, as run by Nobel prize winners and other mathematical geniuses, without being technical. Anyone with a passing interest in the world of finance is likely to enjoy this book.

Although I am only halfway through the text, I have found it covers a multitude of topics and is very easy to use. I especially enjoy the accompanying CD which provides questions similar to the ones I experienced in nursing school. As an added benefit, there are a few assessment questions with an audio component that require knowledge from a student's clinical experience. With over twelve hundred pages, it is rather large and time-consuming, and some topics are not discussed in great depth. However, for an outstanding general review this book is well worth the money.

I did think it had a lot of undertones about how being cheap, I mean frugal, was noble in its own right and there's nothing worth spending money on except charity and education. a tiny little aid during rounds and rotations. it is perfectly color coordinated by categories, really easy to read and follow with the basic info on many subjects. i found the part on writing everyday patient notes extremely helpful since i tend to forget a few things.
i decided to laminate the pages so that it can outlast stains and possible spills. wonderful purchase :)

While the fuller context that was presented in the book "Good to Great" is not present, "Good to Great and the Social Sectors: A Monograph to Accompany Good to Great", provides a quick and thought-provoking read of critical "Good to Great" concepts. Although it does not provide quick fixes to challenges non-profits may be facing (especially in the context of the current economic disruption), it frames important questions a non-profit should consider.
The book acknowledges that non-profits cannot simply be looked upon as "businesses" and describes parallel conventions to the profit and loss measurement that defines success for profit-making ventures.

When you finally have a resource in your hands that shows a mirror to the child you're trying to help...well, you know what a great feeling that can be. While I could re-read many sections so that I could better understand the deficiencies my child's nervous system has, I came away from this book knowing that I finally have a handbook on his problems. It's a very comprehensive collection of both explanation and resources. I'm telling my whole family to read it.
