Very handy with the hints and tips and study notes, but there are a few typos and mistakes in the book, which can get really annoying when you think you have gotten a question right, you look at the answer and it says it is wrong because Kaplan made a mistake.

Also why do some of the answers tell you to use a calculator? or check with a calculator, the whole point of the book is to learn with out the use of a calculator

But i would recommend buying the book, because it is a great layout, plan and the questions in the study notes are so helpful.

There is a genre of memoir that recounts the strange and exotic experiences of an author who has chosen to take a less traveled road, for example to join the French Foreign Legion. Such a memoir is fascinating to the reader in part because it is so far outside the reader's experience. For this reader this book belongs to that genre.

The book provides what appears to be an accurate and well balanced account of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program of the venerated Harvard Business School (HBS). The writer is admittedly an atypical MBA candidate, but nonetheless has apparently succeeded in capturing the culture of HBS and the philosophy of its MBA program. This book is SO boring. It took me 2 weeks to get past the first 2 pages, then another 3 months to read half the book. I have to finish this piece of crap by the end of summer (school assignment), and the district is making us do an 8 page packet! However, this book is good for something. If your having trouble sleeping, don't take pills, read this book, I guarantee you'll be asleep by the end the fist paragraph.

As others have written in, while the cards cover most of the frequently used GRE vocab words and are an extremely helpful way to study, be wary of the some of the definitions. Kaplan doesn't always provide the best definitions or example sentences. They often define the word as a verb and then use it as an adjective in a sentence, for example. In addition, they often don't provide all of the possible definitions, and it's the secondary definitions that get you on the GRE. The card design is extremely helpful, but I had to relearn many words from other vocab sources.

I think that this book did a pretty good job helping me prepare for this test. The practice tests are the best part. The rest is okay, but the practice tests seemed pretty similar to the actual test. By using this book, I made a 33 composite on the ACT.

If you would like some pointers or interesting ways to remember hints, try The ACT For Dummies in addition to this book, but not alone!

This is a top shelf book in my writers tool box. It is clear, concise, and informative. It has many good examples, and its flow chart approach to identifying and correcting typical grammar errors is easy to use. As a new writer, I find this book very helpful.

Currently I am in an intensive language course at BYU and we used this book the first week to learn the Alphabet of Arabic. With this book and hard work my class was able to write the alphabet in just one week and understand the vocabulary words given within the book. This is the best out on the market. I know if you are willing to put in the time you will be able to write the alphabet in one week if you choose to do so. Like any language it takes a great deal of work but the rewards will be endless. I highly recommend this book to beginning students of Arabic.

I had to buy this book for a graduate class. I used the QRI II all the time in my school. As the special education teacher, it was a quick and easy assessment for those first meetings. The new one is a little more organized.
Overall it is a quick and easy assessment tool.
