Female character was not what I would have pictured for someone like Wren. Story did not keep me wanting to turn the pages like Talon or Zarek's stories. It is a fast read which takes you straight to the action and emmerses the reader within a dark fantasy world full of beautiful, dark elves and their wild libidos. .Hide and Seek (The Sisterhood: Rules of the Game, Book 1) City Travel Guides > Books > Romance by: Fern Michaels January 01, 2008 I kept reading through Chapter 8 hoping this book would improve but it did not. I got the impression the author was male with a very low opinion of the female gender. The men in this book, although not leading roles were "father figure" types while all the female characters were "Brats." I had to finally put the book down after the girl fight scene involving every stereotypical "Girl Fight" adjective available. Please do not waste your money. It seemed to be hurriedly written without much thought put into it. I was intrigued with the world of vampires, genies, gargoyles and dragons that had been created and was enjoying the story. .After the Kiss: The Notorious Gentlemen City Travel Guides > Books > Romance by: Suzanne Enoch June 24, 2008 Uh-oh, this is the second Suzanne Enoch book in a row I've read and not loved (following on the heels of the disappointing Sins of a Duke). I got hooked on Enoch because of her engaging characters, interesting subplots, and surprising resolutions to the hero/heroine conflict. This book had the first two ... but the resolution was fairly dull. I guess I was expecting her usual exciting plot twists there, but the hero/heroine just come together in a rather predictable way. Brunstetter July 01, 2008 Wanda is an awesome writer and I have read and enjoyed nearly all of her writings. I felt a bit let down and disappointed with this series, however. The first book held my interest and the story lines were well established but the repetition and mulling over of the attacks, the rumored attackers, the secret liasons between Martha and Luke, the dog business, etc., etc. became tedious and stagnant by book two, and even more so by book 3. It was apparent early on who the culprit was and I struggled to finish the book. I think these three might have been more successfully accomplished in one volume with more development of the other family members and story lines.
