I'm on my 2nd 6-week focus. The book hit me hard and I found myself talking myself out of doing the daily assignments. Now, I'm re-reading the book and it's amazing how much I just ignored doing. The words are new to me! It's not easy .. however, the 1st reading allowed me to grasp some aspects that have stuck with me like: NO CHOICE.

The cards are really helping me even though it does seem weird. However, I am finding the words popping up in my head more and more.

I recommend this book for anyone who is an emotional eater. Just be prepared to have to re-read the book and do the exercises repeatedly over and over again. The more you practice them, the easier it gets. And it really does boil down to: eat less, exercise ... Read More:

More specifically, the book explores, through a series of dialogues and narrations, how symbols, thought and language are all intertwined and how reality is essentially a composition of overlapping meanings and perceptions. The book challenges the reader to observe the system of symbolic meanings around him or her objectively.

I first read this book as my dad was approaching death, which was caused by his cancer. It gave me valuable insights into what my dad, and my family, were going through. I have since purchased and given copies of this book to several friends and family members. I highly recommend it to anyone, but especially if they are currently going through the impending loss of a loved one.

This is a very useful guide to different medications, being at the beginning of my nursing education it is very helpful to have this on hand to look up new drugs as needed. Highly recommended.

The Self-sufficient Life and How to Live It by John Seymour, Deirdre Headon contains many of the basics needed before one considers the notion of starting out on that journey to self-sufficiency.
It is, indeed, written with a rather cycloptic view of the world, but that is, as always, the author's privilege.
The Self-sufficient Life and How to Live It doesn't go into as much depth, subject by subject, as does the TODAY'S HOMESTEAD series of books,Today's Homestead: Volume I, however, it does give one much to consider, and whets the appetite to know more.
All in all, it makes a good addition to the homestead library.

The NEC 2008 Handbook is a great book. It's the best non-addictive cure for insomnia since Benadryl. It's thick enough to be used as a pillow -- and yet, at the same time, its hard cover makes it an ideal lap table for working while commuting via bus or rail. It's heavy enough to be used as both a doorstop and a weapon of self-defense.

The story line is a little weak in places, and I don't think we'll ever see a movie version of it, but I predict that it will be invaluable to archaeologists 2000 years from now.

(Honestly, I'm not sure how to review a handbook for the National Electric Code, but I can say that the explanatory text and accompanying illustrations make the Code do a good job of explaining the Code and, hopefully, making ... Read More:

In the hospital: When your resident asks you to write orders for 17 medicines on one patient, you'll be glad you have this... It's in everyone's pocket. Make sure you have this year's copy. This is the one with small print and no spiral binding. This is almost ALWAYS quicker than the PDA. I've raced people. Also, no batteries to rely on.
