I was supposed to order this book for my ADRN program, and I have found it wonderful and easy to use. People have to keep in mind that it doesn't have every drug that ever existed in here, but I am able to understand well and get my homework done. I will always keep this book and use it for reference once I graduate. This not only was required, but if it wasn't, I would recommend it.

I was assigned the 6th edition of this book at Palomar, and since that one cost $100 i figured i'd buy the previous 5th edition (for $10! woo!)

I compared both editions (borrowed a friend's 6th ed), and the book is basically the same. Except some of the pictures are a little different, and the sentence structure is different in some sections (but contains the same ideas in the same order)

Save yourself some money, just buy the previous editions for all your textbooks. Don't fall into the scam that is higher education. Ever notice how they assign books that your school's teachers wrote too? Such a big scam!

I was pleased to find out that the book we ordered for our daughter was
the correct one. This is the first time I ordered a textbook from Amazon.com and my concern was that the book would not be exactly like
the one that was available at her school's bookstore. The condition of
the book was excellent. I will definitely look for more textbooks next
semester.

The book is full of warm and fuzzy utter nonsense. Such as: If you make the vegetables easier to get to, and the junk food more difficult to reach in the school lunch line, the kids will switch to vegetables. That's BS. The average kid will go for the Twinkies and milk shakes no matter how difficult they are to get to.

Oh, this book stripped the marrow from my bones. I am someone who has never even seen any drugs, but it still gripped me with an insider's harrowing sense of recognition. A very close family member of mine was a coke addict who also was rescued because of her ultimate love for her child. I have endured all the tribulations (too weak a word) that a family member can in watching the endless self-destruction that addiction brings, along with the attendant neglect of a baby. I was victimized countless times by the constant theft and deception that an addict trails in his or her wake, but much worse was trying to help keep the baby alive and flourishing when the baby's mother was out of her mind. good job explaining concepts. The CD that
comes with the book (7th ed) is awesome for testing
your knowledge. If I may suggest something that
has helped my studies greatly, a little book called
Don't Like to Read, Then Don't, Listen!: How to
Turn Any Type of Text Into Audio Files That Can
Be Read to You!. I know that many students out
there are like me and would rather listen to
material than have to read it themselves. I use
programs like the one that is reading this review
to have my texts read to me. This is a god send
for me. One can get this title on amazon.
