"It's a Treasure Hunt!" is a guide to get people started Geocaching and Letterboxing. Geocaching is a treasure hunting game where players use a handheld GPS and try to find containers that are hidden outdoors. Letterboxing is a mixture of treasure hunting, art, and clue solving. Players go online to find clues to where a Letterbox is hidden and once the Letterbox is found, players use his/her homemade stamps and inkpad to stamp the logbook in the letterbox and uses the stamp and inkpad in the Letterbox in his/her personal logbook.

. The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland
City Travel Guides > Books > Specialty Travel
by: Jim Defede
August 14, 2003
I read this book on the heels of Chris Rose's "1 Dead in Attic: After Katrina." Chris Rose mentions this book toward the end of his, and I thought reading a positive story would be a good balance after reading the details of post-Katrina New Orleans. The story of 9/11 and the people of Gander, Newfoundland is fascinating and uplifting, but the book itself is poorly written. Perhaps it is because the author is a reporter, but the emotional impact that should have been there just wasn't. The sentence structure and word choices made me think I was reading an elementary school student's report on what happened rather than a professional's rendition. Had the content of the tale not been so wonderful, I'd have given this book even a lower star rating. I ... Read More:

. The Story of the Titanic As Told by Its Survivors
City Travel Guides > Books > Specialty Travel
from: Dover Publications
June 01, 1960
I would like to recommend for all those interested to also read :
" TITANIC " a survivor's story written by one of the survivors by the name of " Colonel Archibald Gracie " who, gave his story plus went to the trouble of interviewing others who had survived PLUS, he went to almost all the hearings and wrote the transcriptions of testimony as well. Sadly this man died 4th of Dec. 1912 after doing his full duty for history . Thank God for this book as I have read many accounts including this one on here ...also, I would recommend " Sinking Of the Titanic Eyewitness Accounts " by many who survived w/some photos and sketches .

. Appalachian Trail Thru-Hikers' Companion (2008)
City Travel Guides > Books > Specialty Travel
by: Appalachian Long Distance Hikers Association
January 16, 2008
If I had to cut my gear for an Appalachian Trail hike down to two items, I would carry water and the Companion. Seriously, I would take the Companion with me even on section hikes, and possibly even on a day hike.
After a long week of hiking up and down mountains and seeing nothing but trees, leaves, mud, rain, snow and the occasional deer, the Companion will keep you motivated by telling you just how far you have left to go before you can get a pizza or an all you can eat buffet. (After your first few weeks out, you'll really begin to appreciate the importance of a good all you can eat buffet!) Or a shower. And you probably need one by now.
After spending four months out on the A.T. this year and comparing notes with other hikers, I found ... Read More:
