Awesome purchase. This book's a keeper. It goes straight to the point and tells you what you need to know and do, if ever caught in a survival situation.

One downside of the book, in my opinion, is that it does not go into a lot of detail regarding survival situations in environments other than hot deserts and cold temperate areas. The survival kit components that are featured in the book attest to that fact.

But overall I love the book because it gives you knowledge you can begin to use immediately.

It would be natural to expect that someone who has been in and out of rehab and fought the demons of addiction to reach a level of maturity where their message would be of note.
That never happens.
The only reason I kept reading the book was to wait for this big "I get it moment" from our "hero".
That never happens.
Much of the book is spent with the author ranting against all the "wrongs" that have been done to him and his family in this world. What a joke.
Then we are exposed to the his trips through rehab, where none of the counselors have a clue about how to battle addiciton. The author of course knows how addiction can be beat and at each rehab he tells the professionals how. Of course it never seems to occur to our "hero" that maybe ... Read More:

This is a great supplement to any student that is taking Krav Maga. Its impossible to get "it" all in class and having something to use as a manual at home is an asset to your training.

Most instructors I have talked to also have this book and it covers a lot of what is in the instructors manual. its not all the trade secrets mind you but trimmed down and explained in a way that is perfect for the student in question.

Just getting in to Krav Maga? Current student that is looking for a supplement guide? Getting ready for the belt/level test? This is the book to get

Very good book but it is not for everybody. It gives you a lot of details with a scientific approach.
This book assumes that that will be doing your homework keeping track of several statistics and metrics. It can get a little bit tricky so you need to be patient.

I thought this book was very helpful and believeful and I started out as a total skeptic. I think think these principles are sound, although I find them hard to follow. This book is very easy to understand, even for a lay person and many sports 'self help' books aren't. I find that this book gives enough scientific evidence that makes it good, but not so much that its boring or hard to understand. Definitely a must-have for endurance athletes' reference collection.
