I loved this book, which is yet another in the Old Man's War universe. Many scenes show a different perspective of Lost Colony, and are OK. But what really gives this book the gold is the parts John Scalzi fills in with the rest of Zoe's adventures. Totally worth it- I almost cried (and I'm not being sarcastic or anything).

After finishing the Twilight Saga, I needed something quick and easy to read. I picked up the first one to try and really enjoyed it. If you have read the other three in the series, then this is a must. Fun to read, not too deep for young adults, and interesting enough to get you hooked. I am looking forward to the 5th one coming out the end of the year.

After finishing the Twilight Saga, I needed something quick and easy to read. I picked up the first one to try and really enjoyed it. If you have read the other three in the series, then this is a must. Fun to read, not too deep for young adults, and interesting enough to get you hooked. Welcome to the world of the heyday of jazz. The year is 1936, and the world is open to a young orphan who has happened to find himself on the run.

Curtis writes with zesty personality for Bud and paints a portrait of a very likeable young boy who simply wants what all of us want: a family. He's a great kid with plenty of sass who is ready to take on the world and do what he needs to do to find himself his biological father.

Curtis does an excellent job of painting the culture, joys, and hardships of this time period even as they are combined with Bud's wild imagination.

Plenty of fun and heart, even for adults.

Masquerade picks up a few weeks after Blue Bloods ends with Schulyer and Oliver searching Venice for Schulyer's grandfather, Lawrence Van Alan. She does find him and events move more quickly once he enters the picture.

I don't want to give away too much of it, but Mimi gets accused of being the harborer of the Silver Bloods, and a Silver Blood herself after she was found in the possession of dark magic.

Schulyer ends up saving her because as the daughter of Gabrielle, she is the only one of the Blue Bloods who can taste the blood of other vampires without succumbing to the addiction and memory overload that can cause madness.

I used this book solely for the multiple-choice practice problems, not the review or tests, so I can only vouch for the MC problems. The coverage of topics is both broad and deep, with well over 500 problems of varying difficulty. Taking the AP Exam, I felt confident, prepared, and familiar with every problem type. The only complaint I have is the lack of fully developed solutions to the MC problems. The short one- or two-line explanations were always enough to answer any of my questions, but for those struggling with the concepts, they may prove inadequate.

Having read BOTH the book and graphic novel I can say that the story line in the graphic novel is told from a different point of view and in a totally different way then from the book version I would recommend reading the book version first then the graphic novel that way you can see what the graphic novel skipped over or shows a small part of it. (I would have liked to see the robotic versions of the jedi council that starkiller fights while fighting another jedi master in the book version) It does show you what Proxy looks like as well as the Bull Rancor. It also tells WHY (in both the book and graphic novel) Starkiller when from being a sith lord trainee to a jedi trainee.

My son bought this book for a College Course at Purdue Calumet. The day it came I started reading it, It was a very good read,very heartbreaking that a child lived this way. It took me one night to complete, I had such a hard time trying to put it down. My son had a hard time getting into the whole story, until I told him to look at this girl as if she were a relative or friend. That's when it captured his 18 year old heart. It makes you think about what a Cruel world we live in. This book will break your heart, especially if your a mother.

I just finished reading this trilogy and just finished writing a review for book 3, "The Gypsy Morph".

"Armageddon's Children" was the best of the 3 books because the other 2 were bogged down with too much character introspection and flashbacks to events from this book and book 2.

I got these books from the library and recommend others to as well.

As others have mentioned, this book ends with a cliff hanger, but if you are getting the book and it's sequels from the library, this isn't a big deal.

Having read this series, and having read others comment that the series before this was Brooks best (The Word and the Void series), I am inclined to read that series and maybe read "The First King of Shannara" as well as reread "The Sword of Shannara".

I was thrilled with the story, however, several of the disc were damaged and I was unable to hear some of the story, had to jump futher on the disc to get them to play. They had permanet prints on the disc, and could not even clean them. The Story is great and a good young person adventure. (I'm old and enjoy this tale too) I paid $26.00 for this with Amazon, so this product was suppose to be new. First time poor quality from Amazon.
